Hello

I am trying to replace some of my old T-shirts with good quality new ones but have struggled. I usually buy gap but they have gone really thin after a few washes.

I have a really long torso. Any recommendations?

thanks

I also have a long body and get mine from Primark, the stretchy ones are really long... I swear to god I've got every colour and they wash really well.... and there only about £1.50

tangerinajolie · 11/04/2011 15:16

Uniqlo seems good for T shirts long in body length.

I'm 5 ft 10 and recently bought a couple of the Cath Kidston ones which come up lovely and long. And nice thick quality too.

Emo76 · 11/04/2011 19:05

Hi, have got some Banana Republic ones which should work for you too. Their mail order service is v good.

gibba8 · 11/04/2011 20:48

Magicmayhem - I also have them in every colour from Primark as they are very long and reasonable quality. Think they are up to £2 now though - shocking!

Duna · 11/04/2011 20:52

I remember that Long Tall Sally did good 'long' t-shirts (unsurprisingly Grin)

I have the same problem and have found H&M tees are the best. They have a great range in slub cotton (is that what it's called?) which are lovely and long and come in various options: v neck/scoop neck/long or short sleeve and a great range of colours. Will pop over to their site and see if I can find a link.

They are a lovely summer weight but not totally see-through or too thin for spring/autumn wear either.

tulpe · 11/04/2011 21:04

Nope sorry. Cannot find them online but they definitely still have them in our local store so presumably available elsewhere too.

DownyEmerald · 11/04/2011 21:35

I've found Fat face pretty good so far - only two t-shirts in to this relationship tho'!

FellatioNels0n · 11/04/2011 21:55

Yes! Sainsbury's fairtrade organic cotton t shirts. They are about four quid each, tops. They are fantasic quality - they don't shrink or twist in the wash, or go all dish-raggy and they come up quite long in the body. I discovered them last year and I bought one in every colour and three in white! Thery are doing them again this summer and I bought a pale pink one the other day. Make sure you get the classic 'T' in the right thickness, they have some other t shirts in a thinner cheapy looking cotton, with various pockets and features, which are not as good.

cornsilkily · 11/04/2011 22:11

will look in sainsbury's tomorrow - my ds always liked their boy's t-shirts but he's too big for their largest size this year unfortunately.

LolaLadybird · 11/04/2011 22:52

Another vote for Fat Face. Also Boden - had 2 v nice scoop neck tops from the Autumn/Winter catalogue which have been great.

Magicmayhem · 11/04/2011 22:58

gibba8... it seems we are the only 2 Grin that admit to wearing them Wink

chumble · 12/04/2011 07:01

Thanks for the suggestions I shall have a look in Primark I think!

Someone else suggested Uniqlo too so might give these a try.

Have had some from Sainsburys before but they were too short for my torso! Perhaps will give them a second look in case they have changed!

Thanks everyone

Boden are definitely too short in the body for us tall ladies. Long Tall Sally come up very "wide" at the shoulders and neck. I find their tops slip down my shoulders.
They do some at Isabella Oliver, which I keep meaning to try.

willybreeder · 12/04/2011 09:12

Top Shop do a range for taller woman, I thought the quality was pretty good

polyhymnia · 12/04/2011 11:23

woopsi - tried that IO one. It was definitely long enough (I'm 5'9'') though unfortunately the style was too clingy for me.

chumble · 13/04/2011 14:33

Thanks for the suggestions.

Looking for something cotton so Isabella Oliver not suitable really.

Will look at top shop as that may be a possibility

Thanks everyone.
