Tan sandals, slight wedge heel, possibly gladiator-ish - did I dream them?

I have my heart set on a pair of sandals, but I'm not sure whether they exist (I may have dreamt them up, it wouldn't be the first time!). However, there's plenty if similar stuff out there at the moment, so it thought someone might be able to help me track down what I'm looking for.

They're tan leather (a dark, warm looking tan, iykwim), with a thin sole that has about a one inch wedge heel, open toes, not overly strappy, possibly with a strap around the ankle gladiator style (I'd be happy without the ankle strap, however the pair I have in mind do have one I think).

I can afford up to around £70 or so. And if I have actually seen this sandal on a website, chances are it would have been in that sort of price range as i tend not to look on more expensive sites.

If anyone could help me I'd be very grateful.

Dune may have what you are looking for.

FaffTastic · 10/04/2011 21:39

Dune normally have a pair like that that they have rolled out for the last three summers or so. They also do them in black and pewter. Am sure they will be selling them again this year.

Thanks, just checked dune website and there's nothing quite right. The wedges are all too high, most if the flats are too flat. Some of the flats have the slight wedge heel I'm looking for but not the right style.

x post- ignore the dune ones if you've already seen them...

silver28 · 11/04/2011 09:17

Thank tethersegg. I can't view some of them, those off the house of Fraser site, so I'll look on that site directly instead. The office ones are almost there, the others are too flat or too gladiator for me.

What I have in mind is a slightly higher wedge and an ankle strap (poss about an inch wide strap) them the rest of the straps (although pref not too strappy, perhaps just a wide band) just over the widest part of the foot (before you get to the toes) with nothing on the rest of the foot, iyswim? I guess they're not really gladiator style, just the wide ankle strap makes them slightly so, I think.

These are similar but are chunkier (espec the sole) and only avail in blue or cream suede.

I have these which are ridiculously comfortable and much nicer on than they look in the picture.

Thanks everyone. Not seen anything 100% like I had been looking for but am pretty keen on the office ones that tethersend and trixymalixy suggested. Am going to Manchester on Wednesday so will give them a try. Can also check out house of Fraser while I'm there I suppose. Thanks again everyone - you've saved me valuable research time as only have lunch hour to dash around in!
