Please need help! looking for sandals - don't like heels, and prefer the less fussy - just asked opionion on these in another thread on chatwww.mastershoe-sportshoe.co.uk/art-w018-black-womens-p-5962.html and advised my best bet was to come over here and ask you lovely ladies! Budget between £50-£100 thanking you!

I call troll
:o

FaffTastic · 10/04/2011 21:17

Am lost for words ... Umm, they're very 'functional' looking

HumphreyCobbler · 10/04/2011 21:18

there are people out there who like art sandals you know

like me

you just have to be prepared for lots of people to intensely dislike them and rudely tell you so.

I am two inches taller in my art shoes. TWO INCHES. I look slimmer. Without having my rather massive tits pushed forward by high heels. They are incredibly comfortable too.

They are a bit like marmite in that people love or hate them - I have had many compliments too.

Don't listen to those who say they look like granny sandals. I have never seen a granny wearing shoes like these.

follyfoot · 10/04/2011 21:20

Oh god, they are horrible. Sorry OP

cybbo · 10/04/2011 21:21

Cant you just get some Birkies like every other person with no taste ??

coffeekaren · 10/04/2011 21:21

okay - can i start again - am 5ft - can never pull off wearing heels and small size 3/4 feet which sadly not very narrow so not really petite - i know know have been looking at wrong shoes but want to move away from buying one of clarks which never feel right any ideas.....

OP posts:
HumphreyCobbler · 10/04/2011 21:21

I just knew this was going to be about art shoes before I clicked on the link Grin

southeastastra · 10/04/2011 21:22

nowadays grannies are young

FaffTastic · 10/04/2011 21:22

Humphrey, no wonder - my granny would rather chop her feet off than wear shoes like these Grin

HumphreyCobbler · 10/04/2011 21:23

yah boo and sucks to you

collision · 10/04/2011 21:25

May the Lord have mercy on your feet!

They are viiiiiiiiiiiiiile and £76!

HumphreyCobbler · 10/04/2011 21:26

actually my feet love them. They are really good for walking long distances too.

coffeekaren · 10/04/2011 21:26

oh Humphrey 2 inches taller sounds good - going off to have a good look and try not and part with any cash until i am totally convinced - this is the year i will not buy summer shoes just for the sake of it.

OP posts:
HumphreyCobbler · 10/04/2011 21:27

£76 is quite cheap actually for art shoes

lots of people like them you know. Perhaps they are all Spanish.

HumphreyCobbler · 10/04/2011 21:28

we should form a splinter group on MN coffeekaren - art appreciation.

coffeekaren · 10/04/2011 21:28

and i now have inocently started something - sorry!

OP posts:
pink4ever · 10/04/2011 21:29

This is a wind-up surely?

coffeekaren · 10/04/2011 21:29

yes i think so - not too sure about the shoes but sandals did look lovely and if kind on feet even better.

OP posts:
stillbroody · 10/04/2011 21:30

What about these? They're from clarks, quite a thick sole so will be a little bit of familiar territory, and they're quite alright!

HumphreyCobbler · 10/04/2011 21:34

no pink4ever, I own two pairs

and I LOVE THEM. I look forward to summer because of getting out my lovely, comfortable taller making sandals.

You all dislike them, but you are displaying quite a parochial attitude in your incredulity. Art shoes are a famous brand. Have you never heard of them before?

HumphreyCobbler · 10/04/2011 21:35

I mean, sorry, but those clarks ones are what I consider to be absolutely vile.

coffeekaren · 10/04/2011 21:39

Humphrey am siding with you - have been looking at others in range and some really sweet ones - and like the fact that they have a wedge which will add height - have never posted in style before but now feel brave to do so. In twenties wore dm sandals so these seemed a natural progression

OP posts:
coffeekaren · 10/04/2011 21:41

Oh blast what I mean is that dm sandals for some reason dont have so many styles now - not that art are for older women (am not yet) but discovered art this pm and thought would ask views think should go to bed now.

HumphreyCobbler · 10/04/2011 21:42

there have been other threads about art sandals coffeekaren, they ARE a minority taste Grin

I am genuine in my love for them, and really have been stopped in the street by people who mentioned them and asked where I got them. As well as several friends who have expressed horror and disgust.

I am short, with large boobs and thin legs. I put on weight around my top half, so if I am carrying a few extra pounds I need to balance out my shape with something chunky that makes me look taller.
