Sunglasses don't suit!

DoItLikeaLady · 09/04/2011 16:28

No sunglasses suit me, none. I have the same problem with sunhats.

Has any one else experienced this and has any solutions?

Do I suffer looking like a fool all summer or suffer headaches, crows feet and sun damage instead?

Hmm written down the answer seems obvious so please help me find some!? Please?

There are loads of different styles of sunhats and sunglasses - there must be something to suit you out there!

Floppy sunhats and pork-pie type are everywhere.

Could it be that you are just not used to seeing yourself in them?

FebreezeYourJeans · 09/04/2011 17:12

I look shit in sunglasses but less shit (I reckon) in the huge floppy 70s hats.

BinEnd · 09/04/2011 17:25

OP - I sympathise with you. I've bought loads of pairs of sunglasses and I don't think any suit. I think my ears are not level so they're always a bit lopsided !

Last year we went on holiday to Italy and I bought a pair of large, uber fashionable sunglasses. Sipping cocktails on the banks of Lake Garda, in my maxi dress, sunhat & sunglasses I thought I was the epitome of cool. Until DS1 told me he didnt like my glasses as I looked like a wasp Grin

I can't decide whether its my ears or eyebrows that are lopsided but sunglasses always look wonky on me too.

Actually, maybe my entire face is wonky Hmm

I have only just seen the link between sun hats and sunglasses, both keep the sun out of your eyes! Amazing revelation! I didn't see the correlation. I'm not even being sarcastic. Duh.

Sunglasses how much do you spend though? Would I look better in a really expensive pair I wonder Hmm

I have spent years trying to find a pair that suited and last year I did. Well they look vaguelu ok, I don't look ridiculous (no more than normal). Persevere, you'll probably find some that suit you eventually then they'll cost loads like mine did.

Some people say I look really good in hats, others say I look silly. I haven't worked out which it is yet and there seems to be no middle gorund

stillbroody · 09/04/2011 17:35

Oh sunglasses look awful on me too!
I have a wide but short nose and you can really see how awful it is in sunnies.
grrrrrrrrrr.
Carry a beach brolly round with you :o

DoItLikeaLady · 09/04/2011 17:35

Is it still ok to wear huge glasses? I have a big face.

Any one care to share some links. I don't know were to start.

I have a big square face and had the exact same problem as you I'm currently rocking these bad boys (the Evidence sunglasses) and absolutely love them!

"There are loads of different styles of sunhats and sunglasses - there must be something to suit you out there!"

I agree. My ears aren't symmetrical and I have to wear glasses all the time. My optician told me that very few people had symmetrical ears and they simply adjust the frames so that they don't look crooked on my face. I wear sunglasses when it is bright because I have very photosensitive eyes. Also, ultraviolet light exposure to the eye has been associated with cataract formation and retinal degeneration. I would far rather look a complete twat in sunglasses than have even more problems with my eyesight than I already do.
