quite literally! DS is 9 mo old and I am too big for my pre- pregnancy wear, and too small for maternity stuff. It's sooooooo depressing. I don't know where to start or what to wear......seem to have lost my sense of style somehow?
I just don't know how to dress my new mum self Sad

There's always some good advice given on here for this kind of thing. The general suggestion is, if possible, treat yourself to some new basics - skinny black/indigo jeans, a breton tee, a jersey/tea dress, a knee/over-the-knee denim or other skirt, some wedges...oh, and a new, properly fitting bra! Personal shoppers are often recommended on here (Debenham's are free I think). Think about what colours you are attracted to, and if there's anyone who has a style that you like ( and you could pinch a few ideas from them!).

BlackSwan · 09/04/2011 09:26

Ashbury, that's great advice re the jeans/breton top- in fact it's EXACTLY what I did! Jeans can be expensive though, so I would stick with a reasonably priced brand as you may need to buy a couple of different sizes as you lose weight to your original size (or close). I have a few pairs of jeans which don't fit me now... don't know what to do with them.

I feel your pain.

DS is 7 months but with a 4.5 yr old DS and 2.5 yr old DD too I am feeling rather flabby (I have been pregnant or breastfeeding for 5.5 years).

My boobs are huge and fit no tops unless they stretch

My stomach is well...interesting.

I was curvy as it was

I have decided simple is the way forward. And sit ups Grin

Well you sound similar so both might need similar things.

First of all sort out your underwear to get a proper silhouette.

You both need good fitting bras and these

collision · 09/04/2011 12:20

cute DP dress with leggings

You can both wear leggings so do not discount it. Can look nicer than bare legs imvho.

collision · 09/04/2011 12:22

You can buy lots of accessories such as scarves and necklaces and earrings and change any outfit by accessorising.

Buy lots of different coloured tops and plain linen trousers. Change the shoes.

Most colours except black go with navy.

collision · 09/04/2011 12:23

love this

peppapighastakenovermylife · 09/04/2011 13:59

Grin thank you...that skirt and first dress are now both in my basket and off searching for more

peppapighastakenovermylife · 09/04/2011 14:02

What about maxi skirts on the curvy? Yes or no?

PetiteMum · 09/04/2011 16:17

Aw thanks collision, you are so sweet it makes me want to cry! Hm, don't the magic knickers dig in and create rolls? The only thing that's ever stopped me from buying them

OP posts:
collision · 09/04/2011 20:03

No they dont PetiteMum as long as you get the right size and dont try and squish into a smaller size!

ppig - maxi dresses are lovely but dont get one with swathes of material as it can make you look bigger.

collision · 12/04/2011 09:07

bump

PetiteMum · 12/04/2011 09:28

Right, am armed with all ideas and off to the m and s outlet this week, fingers crossed! Is it me, or does shopping seem to be the least important thing when you are house hunting with baby in tow?! But I shall procrastinate no longer! I cannot go on like this, and it is far to warm for me to hide behind hideous chunky cardigan....thanks for the tips, will let you know how it goes
