Hi, sorry if this has been covered before but have just ordered mine and am wondering if you are supposed to use mousse or some kind of styling product on your hair before you use it? Thanks for any info. I have chin length, fine hair so am hoping for miracles

There was an article about it in the Daily Mail today. Not that I read the DM or anything...

I wonder if the journalist is an MNer?

Don't do your fringe - if you have one!!

DarrellRivers · 07/04/2011 17:58

I do a little bit to my fringe and then brush down afterwards
Lovely and shiny
Remember you can use on dry hair as well if you need a little extra oomph
(love my BBH, i can go to school re-union now)

Big squirt of mouse, put on both fingers and pull through hair from hairline and roots.

I have very fine midlenght hair and the mouse makes a huge difference. Makes my root lift last all day - I really notice when I forget to do it.

Was not too impressed with Big Hair at first (wasn't using mouse!) but totally got the knack now. I do it everyday - my hair just feels too flat when I don't.

Lots and lots of my friends have noticed and I have gotten lots of comments of how nice my hair is looking and that I am looking a lot more pulled together (have been making a huge effort on this part recently though, dying eyebrows religously at home etc and just better grooming!!)

cybbo · 07/04/2011 19:23

I still like, todally love mine

Use it every day, as a puffer uper on flat days and a whoosher on washed days

I love mine! Makes my hair swish-tastic and swingy.

mmmwine, if you are competent with a hairdryer and brush then you're a better woman than I. Grin

cybbo · 08/04/2011 17:10

yes mmmwine it is very different to DIY hair drying/rollers. its like a prof blow dry

It takes about 5 mins on 90% dried hair

my hair shortish bob with long layers

I can certainly notice the difference when I use a brush and hairdryer.
(Trying to justify the expense of buying it every now and then by resorting to previous method-and happily having to re-do it with the BBH!!)

I can now rough dry one side whilst BBH-ing the otherGrin.
Takes about the same time to style for me as before but would ditch the hairdryer anyday.

mmmwine you can get new ones for £29 on eBay with free delivery. Think I'm going to invest shortly.

moragbellingham · 09/04/2011 21:51

Noticeably less fly-aways than before - nice and smooth.
Convinced yet?

I got mine in Robert Dyas for £35. That was a while back when Asda were selling for £22.50.

CointreauVersial · 09/04/2011 22:02

Softkitty - make sure you are getting the right type.

There were lots of the old version on eBay a while back, with the non-rotating brush, not the real deal.
