Can you point me in the direction of a nice raincoat / light weight jacket for my 6.5 yo ds?

Please?

£25 tops.

Boyish (!)

I like a wee bit of colour not dull and drab.

TIA

Ds and I tried on everyone in our hometown on Sat! I think Zara could be the shop for you. Nice bit of stripy lining going on!

tassisssss · 07/04/2011 20:44

not as shiney in real life

tassisssss · 07/04/2011 20:45

Gosh that sounded really rude Blush didn't mean to! It's just frustrating that there are endless cute ones for girls.... Like the red one above...will investigate further. Will also have look at togz when back on proper internet.

Thanks for suggestions.

Xx

Kisses to make up for rudeness earlier! [Blush]

hope you find a lovely one soon!

ja9 · 10/04/2011 22:22

tassisssss, you really have brought me the best of the 'colourful' selection around. I'm really interested in that red one (red herring) that you said you nearly bought. it says they only have them from 10years did you see smaller sizes in store or did you find they are small fit?

Sarkylady did you go for that GAP one? I like the shape / style of the regatta one a lot... just wish they had it in a red / green / lighter blue. Would really like a colourful one while he's still little enought to be up for it.

ds was trying on 9-10s and he may have tried that on in a 10 now you mention it and it wasn't ridiculously big. I liked it a lot but would have liked it a little thicker (not that the one we ended up with is any thicker).

Did you not see any you liked in Zara? I think your ds would look great in the first I linked to, you do not like? I couldn't persuade my boy it was a contender!

ja9 · 10/04/2011 22:43

haven't been to the shops yet tass -this week hopefully. (Is there a zara in aberdeen?).

The first one you linked to looks really shiney... i know you said it's not, so i'll need to check it out in real life. Whilst i really like the red one, he's been wearing a red coat all winter (your lovely hand-me-on) and so i'd ideally like a wee change.

There is a Zara in Union Square ja9. You have to walk right through the ladies right to the very very back for the kids but it is there, eventually!

Carrotsandcelery · 10/04/2011 22:53

Where abouts in Aberdeen are you ja9? They used to do good little boys jackets at Millers, just past Echt.
Have you looked in the mountain shops? They do a lot of light weight jackets that are waterproof and all that. I appreciate they are not everyone's cup of tea though.
We have had great ones from Gap in the past and from H&M in the past too but haven't seen this year's "collection".

ja9 · 10/04/2011 22:56

CAC - thank you! Will visit later in the week. I don't live in Aberdeen (anymore) just up visiting family in (central) Aberdeen. I had wondered about H&M, they are often colourful (in fact i think i bought a colourful jacket for tass ds there a few years ago), so will check it out.
