Should I be brave and keep this jumpsuit?

So I ordered [[http://bit.ly/fdE1t0 this] jumpsuit] from ASOS (20% off) as a bit of an experiment... and I love it! Feels lovely (smells a bit chemically tho), stretchy, flattering - willhave to take trousers up (am short) but really nice. But the crotch is SO low - mid thighs? I think it looks right (is the fashion isn't it?) but need mumsnet reassurance.

What do you all think?

It would drive me mad, a low slung crotch.

Adair · 04/04/2011 11:40

The whole thing is v loose and floaty... will try again this eve.

If you add sky high heels and walk tall it will look lovely. Sometimes it pays to be brave.

Adair · 04/04/2011 11:46

no, no heels. But will walk tall and be comfy...

...is that the nail in the coffin? have i killed it now?

I don't know, adding heels would keep that low slung crotch further away from the ground, it's your call.

Lipstickgal · 04/04/2011 12:18

No. It will be slung in the back of the wardrobe after one outing as you are not really sure about it. Send the beggar back.....

Ask yourself this: would you wear it if it were a dress? (ie, that pattern, that basic shape, those buttons). It looks very dress like for a jumpsuit and a bit like an 1980s Laura Ashley dress at that. If that's your bag, then keep it, but imo a jumpsuit needs to be a bit more directional to work...

Adair · 04/04/2011 16:17

Lipstickgal, i agree with your mantra - mine is usually 'do i want to keep the is on and wear it right now'. My answer was 'yes'... though admittedly I prob would take the trousers up... so I wouldn't be able to and then in all honesty prob won't happen.

Roary, yes, I would. Grin iN fact, was really looking for a dress that will work with massive post-preg boobs...

Will try on again but think you lot are prob right (though making me dig heels/flats in stubbornly). And it smells. Which is never good, is it?

Flat shoes, big norks and this jumpsuit will make you like andy pandys deranged sister imo.Sorry but its vile.

Meggles76 · 04/04/2011 17:47

if you are short, then I definitely think that heels are a must (sorry). However, head to toe of the same fabric is goof for creating the illusion of height. IMO Next have some nicer ones in. If you are 5ft 3 or under, they have a fair few in their petite range that you wouldn't need to alter.

It's ok, it's going back!! Think i was probably just overjoyed to finally order something that fits (after sending back 4565 dresses that wouldn't do up over my boobs). Will look at Next. Unfortunately my perfect dress/jumpsuit has to also allow easy whip-em-out breastfeeding. links appreciated. Can pay teeny tiny bit more for quality... Deranged is fine though (as long as i like it, but i don't know if I do). Already have mad-lady grown-out red hair Wink.
