E45 cream as a moisturiser?

Does anyone use this as their daily moisturiser? I've had a recent outbreak of dermatitis or something which is now under control with a steroid cream, but I'm playing it safe at the mo & not wishing to inflame my skin so have started using E45. It's working OK but strangely I don't feel it's doing a very good job at moisturising.
Are there any other non-irritant creams that you think would do a better job?

I often have the same thing, terrified of trying ANYTHING new in case it makes my skin go haywire... I use the E45 Endless Moisture as a body lotion and am not averse to whacking a bit on my face if the mood takes me, but you're right, it's not really good enough for face. The only face cream that doesn't set me off is Olay 7 signs with SPF 15 for day and 7 signs night cream for night.

Couldn't find the night cream anywhere this weekConfused so I bought Simple night cream and used it for the first time last night... It seems alright , at least it hasn't sent me into an outbreak, but not moisturising enough!

I'm already boring myself by saying this but Eucerin worked wonders on my dry, scaly, peeling, irritated skin. It's really longwearing, other moisturizers disappear quickly but this keeps working overtime. Now my lizard skin is supple and healthy - I hardly need any make-up any more, and I only need to reapply once every 24 hours. Worth a try if your usual moisturizer is no good and if you have sensitive skin. I tried plenty of different ones before ending up with this. I easily get acne and breakouts from most moisturizers, but Eucerin has been problem-free so far.

Which one, DonaAna? There are about 50 products it seemed, it scared me off trying it in boots yesterday!

This one is perfect on me. Haven't bothered trying the others as I love a decluttered bathroom cabinet.

which Aveeno, swc? Am allergic to practically everything at the moment...

Incidentally, Vitamin E is a commonly used preservative in cosmetics that are "preservative free". Nothing wrong with that, but it also extends the shelf life of a cream.

I use E45 as a daily moisturiser. I find anything else just gives me dreadful skin. My sister bought me some Clinique stuff for Christmas once and it was horrible.

I whack it on in the morning and my skin is soft all day. I reapply after washing my face.

I also use it as emergency lip balm. Blush

I've been using Aveeno cream mixed with a teeny blob of sudocrem over the past week which has worked wonders on my suddenly sore, eczema like face particularly around my mouth/t zone. I usually have oily skin so will stop if it starts to get congested.

Aqueous cream is the only thing I can rely on for long-term use on my face. Can't use Eucerin or E45. I bought bloody Clinique Comfort on Call - supposed to be specifically for sensitive episodes, and not only did it make my skin sting, my eyes watered and I had a stinking headache as well!

Saying that, I have used Lavera creams and they were good, but not so easy to get hold of locally, although I think Holland and Barrett stores stock them now.

Also Body Shop Aloe vera cream is nice, but I think their prices are now on a par with the higher-end stuff, which I don't consider them to be.
