Any brilliant new foundations to recommend?

I currently wear Lancome Teint Miracle, but it's just not doing it for me any more. I am 40+ and need something natural looking which covers my twenties-excess, wine-induced redness without making me look too obviously foundationed in the bright spring/summer light.

Any recommendations, please?

I am going to the Big City today, so I am going to run around the dept stores demanding samples and will report back!

I was probably being a bit harsh about Clarins. Great colour match and coverage - very natural - but I felt that the 'less than taut' skin around my mouth looked worse wearing that product. I did get a smaple of something called Hydraquench serum which has been great for my skin Smile

I checked and it appears that I am 300+ miles away from Armani foundation, but as I get down to London regularly I could get matched and then buy online...

Ok, I went for Diorskin Nude (natural look, but also good coverage for the aforementioned redness) and I also bought Soap and Glory's Wish Upon A Jar (which was recommended on another thread) because the packaging is fantastic and it was a thrid off and well under a tenner.

I then threw caution to the wind and I bought a pair of Fly sandals and some silk pyjamas too Smile Let's hope that I do get my first pay through this week!

Second Armani Luminous Silk. I dont have great skin or a complicated / expensive skin routine but I am always complimented on my skin when wearing this

The Clarins skin illusion looks chalky on me too. I think it just depends on your skin.

I've tried them all ver the years, I think. I'd settled for Chanel Vitalumiere until very recently, but a friend recommended Boots No 7 Lift and Luminate and I am totally sold on it. It is exactly the same as Vitalumiere, to be honest. They even smell similar. But obviously, massively cheaper Grin. Gives a nice coverage, but feels moisturising and dewy.

(I am mid-30s with dry-ish/combination skin in generally good nick, but with some redness around the nose area these days, btw).
