Maxi dress-nice or yuk?

I am looking for a maxi dress that I can wear to a couple of nights out(not for a few months so more summery iyswim?). Seen one I quite like but am not sure of print.Its the Star by Julien Macdonald one(sorry cant do links) with the necklace attached.Please have a look and tell me what you think(am a size 14).
Btw I have a monsoon one that I have worn to death but dont like the ones they have in this season. Max amount will spend-£100.

Have you seen the reviews for the black Phase eight maxi reduced from £75-£45? I know it's not summery but could be a very good buy, with some nice accessories.

I really like it ....... but it would need to fit really well.
I know from looking at it that it would not suit me because I am a short-arse so it would need shortening (thus ruining the pattern) and the straps would need altering so my boobs dont look saggy! Otherwise I would buy it myself.
I think it would be quite easy to dress up or down for day/evening wear.
