As someone who make up brides as part of my living here's a few tips based on my experience -
The favorite bridal foundations are the same as the favorites that always come up on here, Chanel Vitalumiere or Pro Lumiere (if you want matte), or Diorskin Nude. Lancome Teint Idole if you want a good coverage. Apply with a brush (very small amount at a time rather than big wet brush!). No Touche Eclat or similar otherwise you will have reverse panda/skiing holiday look. Powder T-Zone & lids/under eye, even if you want dewy make up. You can leave the cheeks glowy if you want. If you use concealer, also use a brush to apply it so you don't have any solid round blobs of concealer!
Waterproof mascara is a must if you are of an emotional disposition! .... Same recommendation for yours and fiancee's mum.
You need to strike a balance between natural and 'there' - bear in mind that daylight/flash/ivory satin all have a tendency to wash you out so what you see in the mirror may well disappear in the photos.
Also find a balance between being fashionable and having the sort of make up that you will look back on your photos in 5-10 years time and think "Oooh, that's so dated".
If you have oily skin or are getting married at a time of year when it may be hot then MAC Blot Films are indispensible. They blot off any shine without disturbing make up and stop you getting cakey looking if you apply more powder.
Use a lip liner lightly over the whole lip to help your lipstick last longer. If you are the type of girl who likes bright lipstick I would recommend something like Lipcote to prevent your new husband's first photo of married life being one resembling a pantomime dame or Ronald McDonald.
If you have a veil or long hair which is going to be loose steer clear of lipgloss, it's not a good combo especially if there's a breeze.
