If you have any kind of an eye for fashion, do not purchase the following from Boden

Yet another disappointing bundle has arrived. I wouldnt if I was you.

The Swishy and Printed cotton skirts, awful patterns and cut. Only purchase if you belong to an ultra conservative religious group. They do nothing for you.

The jersey blazer. Again, it is like a box on with short arms that make you look as if you have shrunk it.

The denim pencil skirt. The buttons make it look very cheap you are better off going to Peacocks.

The Tropical Maxi Dress isnt even maxi and does not cover your boobs, if they are ample.

However, that grannified Every day Jersey dress in the green animal print is lovely and flattering. Im really pleased with it.

I dont know what has happened to Boden. And of course, knowing my luck, I wont get a proper refund either.

Its dire this season.

I was interested in the jersey blazer. Is it really that bad? Oh dear...my hunt for a lightweight and flattering blazer continues.

roary · 31/03/2011 10:11

I really like the jersey blazer, actually - I think it depends on your shape. It is not at all boxy on me, but it is not meant to be fitted, either. I've had a lot of compliments on it. I'm a tall skinny person, relatively flat chested, quite boyish figure.

MissFoodie · 31/03/2011 10:18

LOL
I just ordered 3 t-shirts, using the 3-for-2 offer...nothing else does it for me this season, and yes, all looks a bit flimsy and badly made

BulletWithAName · 31/03/2011 10:21

I wouldn't anyway Wink

Bradsmum · 31/03/2011 10:25

Kittya - so pleased you love the glorified green granny dress! I love mine too - so flattering - but then thought maybe I've lost my "mumsy" radar when it got slated.. think a lot depends on the length you wear it and boobiness..

Likesshinythings · 31/03/2011 10:29

I've got the laundered linen blazer and like it very much (wearing it today, in fact). The belt is a bit odd as it sits really high but it's easily removed. I'm short and curvy with an ample bust and it fits well.

Bradsmum · 31/03/2011 10:33

i ordered the Avignon jacket on the basis of the reviews as with 2 other (hopefully ok) purchases it cost £1...we'll see!

Oumasrusks · 31/03/2011 10:55

I have the tropical maxi dress and love it. Amazingly it does cover my boobs (and they are more than ample at a size 32G).

I have noticed with other things that the quality has deteriorated though.

polyhymnia · 31/03/2011 11:04

Have also ordered the jersey blazer. It hasn't come yet, but doesn't sound as if it's going to be a success when it does.

Glad you like the Everyday Jersey Dress. Have one in blue animal print which I'm pleased with.

Interesting about maxi dress . Those usually get rave reviews - probably wouldn't order anyway because I don't do sleeveless. But was considering layering it, perhaps.

kittya · 31/03/2011 11:06

you think youve got a bargain with the £1 thing but when you end up sending half the stuff back you never get that bargain.

The jersey jacket was no good because I have boobs.

i keep eyeballing this

is it bound to be shite do we think?

kittya · 31/03/2011 11:38

If you are tall and skinny it should be ok.

OP posts:
MayorNaze · 31/03/2011 11:39

i am shortish and skinny...? i also quite fancy this in the pinky pattern

kittya · 31/03/2011 11:41

I like the colour. Will it be a mini on you? you dont want it to be a funny length. Mind you, if you get free delivery it should be ok.

OP posts:
MayorNaze · 31/03/2011 12:00

i have long legs for a shortass so hopefully will be ok...am still pondering though...am still waiting for another skirt that i exchanged nearly 3 weeks ago now Angry

polyhymnia · 31/03/2011 12:02

MayorNaze - I ordered that stripy tunic. It was OK but I didn't think it was any better than others which are around on the High Street, some of them cheaper - eg, I have several from Autograph, which I actually prefer.

MayorNaze · 31/03/2011 12:05

hmm

i do have a £10 m&s voucher knocking around actually...

sue52 · 31/03/2011 14:49

I bought the jersey blazer, it looks good on but I am a bit lacking in boobs.

hattymattie · 31/03/2011 15:04

I got tropical maxi dress - am standard size" 12 (B cup). Fits perfectly and boobs stay nicely in place with not to much cleavage on show. The rest I agree entirely with you Kittya the quality has gone right down hill and some of the designs are starting to look a bit like BHS. Very disappointing.

kittya · 31/03/2011 15:17

The tropical printade my arse look like the back of a bus. I
sure if you are slender it will look completely different. That's 250 squid I'm looking forward to getting back!

Likesshinythings · 31/03/2011 15:59

MayorNaze. I have the stripy tunic and am happy with it. Is v short though - I have to wear it with leggings to be decent and I am only 5'3"

RedwingWinter · 31/03/2011 16:50

I have the tropical maxi dress too and I like it, although I agree that the length could be a little bit longer. I got a plain colour as I didn't fancy the prints.

polyhymnia · 31/03/2011 17:19

To your list, kittya, I can add the Cosmopolitan Dress. I did link it on here when tempted by the 'third item free' offer and several people said they didn't like it/ it wouldn't work. I ordered it nevertheless, 'just to see', and they were right!

To top off saga, instead of the pricy colour block tunic I ordered they sent me another of the stripy tunics, discussed above. Seemed to look better on me this time, but I'm probabaly just getting desperate!!

polyhymnia · 31/03/2011 17:20

Sorry, I meant 'third item for £1', not free!

kittya · 31/03/2011 18:50

and you probably ended up keeping two items you werent fussed about!!
