Claire Nasir and Lytess leggings

She's the former weather girl who was pictured a few months ago in a celeb mag working out outdoors in what appeared to be a green bikini. (You do question why.) She had the most awful cellulite. She's since lost about three stone and swears by Lytess leggings for cellulite busting. Am tempted to buy some as I am also cursed by the dimpled stuff, they're expensive though, about 50 quid a pair. Just wondered if anyone has them/tried them and knows if they actually work?

How do the leggings get rid of cellulite? Confused

MummyPenguin · 31/03/2011 08:25

Well, apparently, they're 'infused' with caffeine and other cellulite belting ingredients. I've researced them and it says that to get the best results you have to wear them for at least 8 hours a day for 6 days a week to get best results. Claire Nasir wore hers while she exercised and she must have had others to wear at other times too. So really, if you were going to try them you'd need 2 pairs and wash them frequently. If I knew for sure that they worked, really worked, I'd go for it even though it would mean spending £100 on leggings... Definitely one to keep from The Husband! Then again, I'm imagining people thinking "that skanky woman is always in those black leggings...!!

I just googled them - you have to wear them 8 hours a day for 6 consecutive days for 3 weeks, then you wash them and they can be washed up to 30 times. Sounds like a bit of a faff!

MummyPenguin · 31/03/2011 08:32

It does really, and you can't help thinking, hmm, £50 on leggings that can only be washed 30 times?

M & S did some tights like this a few years ago. I bought some, and couldn't even fit into them! I still have them somewhere. The irony is, that if I could fit into them, I would not have cellulite at that size!
Just a thought, if you had time, you can get beauty treatments for cellulite. There was something called I think G5(?) an electro treatment that you had so many sessions of. Often you can get these treatments at the local college at vastly reduced prices, done by year 3 students, and you wouldn't have to live in leggings....

she did that green thing to flog her dvd

MummyPenguin · 31/03/2011 15:05

Yeah most probably but God, she's got some bottle as in the 'before' pictures she looked bloody awful - cellulite city - and I'm not intending to be harsh as I've got loads myself but hers was worse (slightly comforting.) I wouldn't have worn that green bikini in a public place or been photographed in it and put in magazines for any amount of money or dvd sales. Too mortifying. She's miraculously cellulite free now - Lytess Leggings or air-brushing? Hmm

I think a bit of both.!!! I am 43 go to the gym 3 times a week, do advanced tap and jazz classes 2 at least twice a week , work part time , plus all other mums things. Ii still have cottage cheese bum and thighs that are just as bad or even worse then Claires, I am a size 10/12 5'5 and weigh 10st 6. I have tired various creams and nothing has touched it . Do i spend £100 on some leggins with the hot weather arriving hmm !!! Any body else got any tips ?

ManicAnnie · 19/05/2011 21:53

Absoloute bollocks. She has got a deal with them, to promote them, hasn't she? Fuck off did some leggings sort out that cellulite. She has been hardcore personal training-it 7 days a week for months, more like.

MrsSnow · 19/05/2011 21:57

The thing is that leggings support your leg muscles, so if you wear them non stop while supposedly reducing cellulite your actual muscles are getting lazier. Which will mean that at the end you will have cellulite free legs but legs which aren't as firm Hmm

Kalypso · 20/05/2011 08:49

Personally, I think the reason her cellulite seemed so bad in that original picture was because she was jumping (wasn't she skipping or something?), so her thighs were wobbling as the photo was taken. That would definitely make it look much, much worse. It was probably also in quite harsh sunlight when any dimpling of the skin is more noticeable.

I'm sure I saw another photo recently in some mean-spirited article that claimed her cellulite was 'returning'. Again, the photo was probably taken in harsh light.

Her cellulite probably did improve with the weight loss and personal training (I don't reckon the leggings had that much to do with it) but I can't imagine it's gone entirely. In some lights, my thighs look almost dimple-free; in other lights they look a bit dimply. I'm a size 8/10 and reasonably fit, and I think even if I lost weight and got really skinny and trained loads, I would still have cellulite.

Agree with Kalypso.

I am a size 8, run miles each week and still have a bit of cellulite. It's normal and really something you just have to live with BUT you can lessen it by drinking lots of water, exercise, body brush to make skin smoother etc. But unfortunately some of us have it, some don't - irrelevant of size. Get a good body brush and do that every morning, especially on thighs and bum. It does help if you stick with it as it improves circulation (I think!).
