clothes storage solution for wardrobe

I'm redecorating our bedroom and it may mean I have a bit less storage space, hopefully someone can suggest a wonderful solution that will change my life! I have a single fitted wardrobe with hanging stuff and a double but the double is a pain because only one side opens as its in the corner so its a bit difficult to get at stuff in it. I was thinking that I could keep the single one with current wearing hanging stuff and put a couple of drawers in the bottom for knickers/ socks/ bras/ vest tops etc.
In the double one I was thinking of putting in drawers all the way up to the top, possibly baskets on runners in the bit you can't get into very easily (so they pull open into the area you can get to if you get my drift). Am I best off getting drawers and keeping a v short rail for long coats and stuff or should i pack up my non season clothes and stack them in there and if so what in?
Please let me into your storage secrets and what works for you. do you pack up your non season clothes and put them away or do you leave them hanging up all year round

By the time you've filled your existing wardrobes with those Muji drawers, you might have been better off buying an Ikea Pax wardrobe that you've customised to your requirements. I bought a triple one recently- four shelves, 5 drawers, two hanging rails, £300.

Would sliding doors help?

the wardrobes are built in which we inherited and we are changing the doors to them. Unfortunately the double one is in the corner but dp's is also attached to it so its only got one door which opens hence my problems! I would love to replace the whole thing but its too expensive. Our flat is seriously lacking on good storage!
The muji ones are a good size buts going to cost me £125 if i get them. I guess i need to keep on googling?

Seriously, if you can, spend the money on Pax wardrobes, they go round corners and have internal drawers and pull outs and everything, however you want it really.

I would personally knock out the built-ins and start again.

can you buy the internal bits of pax seperately?

Yes it's called Komplement there are shelves and drawers and baskets, shoe racks, poles etc etc it's easier to see it all in an ikea store then you get a good idea. We have a corner wardrobe with 2 hanging heights, shoe rack and shelves, it's huge inside!
