Honest opinions please on this dress for a wedding

I bought this dress yesterday as I have 4 weddings to go to this summer. I love the shape (there is crinoline under the skirt) but am not 100% sure on the print - well, more the colours. What do you think?

I also have ordered this dress as 2 of the weddings will have the same people at them. I have a black fastinator that I thought would suit both.

What do you think? I am 32 with pale skin and dark hair... not 100% sure I really suit yellow, but I figured the other colours would balance it out? Hmm

Lovely.

i love them both!

I have a family wedding in the Summer and I am also looking for a fabulous dress that I will feel comfortable in, look amazing in and does not cost the earth.

I usually shop in the High Street - Next, New Look, H&M, Miss Selfridge etc so not holding out much hope Wink

greeneyesbigbottom - don't lose hope! I bought a beautiful dress from H&M last year which was very similar cut to the Monsoon dress linked to in the OP except white background with grey & black roses. It cost me £30 and yet looks much more expensive due to the detail and finish (also has lovely tulle underskirt) and I get compliments every time I wear it :)

Clarkykitten I think I prefer the Monsoon one to the Trolley Dolly number. HOwever, IME wearing Monsoon to a wedding can be dodgy as it is such a popular store for wedding guest outfits you run the risk of someone else wearing the same dress! DItto Coast.

I love that Oliver Bonas one - would snap it up right now meself Grin, except that their dresses always seem slightly shorter than they should be - not talking mini - I just mean tthe proportions don't seem quite right.

Thanks for the replies :) that is completely true Tulpe about wearing monsoon to a wedding - doh! DH and I had a rare day out just the two of us to do some shopping and I was determined to get a dress! Hmmm, I also love the monsoon one, but if someone else wore the same I'd be a bit gutted... especially because it is such a stand out print! Your H&M one sounds lovely!

MrsGuy, I am only 5'3" so hopefully it will be ok!

I like both and floral prints are very 'on trend' at the moment Smile

BulletWithAName · 29/03/2011 17:26

The magenta one is gorgeous!

Very nice! I do agree with the poster who mentioned that Trollied Dolly can be short. I like some of their stuff and have ordered in the past, but alas it has always gone back. My legs are ok, but not my favourite feature, and at nearly 40 I have decided that above the knee does not flatter. I am 5 ft 10 though, so that may be part of the reason!!

whitegold · 29/03/2011 22:57

They're both lovely! Especially the Monsoon one!
