Yes, it may be from M+S, but it's total Joan Holloway on a curvy figure...

That link isn't working mippy...

OrangeBernard · 28/03/2011 07:40

Too high for big norks, would look matronly.

woopsidaisy · 28/03/2011 07:58

OrangeBernard, how did you get that to work?

gregssausageroll · 28/03/2011 07:59

Eek! Definitely too high for boobs.

lubeybooby · 28/03/2011 08:32

You're avin' a giraffe! That's an awesome dress for for the slender, not curvy!

brimfull · 28/03/2011 08:50

hmm I am tres norky and that subtle boat neckline actually looks better on me than scoop neckline. I have narrow shoulders ,maybe that's why?

FebreezeYourJeans · 28/03/2011 09:34

That neckline wouldn't work with my boobs either.

animula · 28/03/2011 10:47

I'm with ggirl - I think it's more about shoulders than well-endowdness per se.

If you have broad shoulders, high necks + breasts can look matronly. If you are not so broad, high/boat/slash necks can be a great deal more flattering than the V-necks so rigidly doled-out to the larger-of-cup-size by the advice of Trinny and Suzannah. so don't discount it out of hand ....

OrangeBernard · 28/03/2011 11:16

That it'll be it, my swimmer's shoulders. Any way the review is shit

mippy · 28/03/2011 12:10

Ah yes, but think Joan Holloway - she has a big chest, yet there is literally one outfit in four seasons in which she shows her cleavage.

I would really like to get rid of the tyranny of v-necks for the ample chested.

It's a myth IMO. Besides, I don't always feel like getting my baps out. I even wear Shock polo necks on occasion and I'm a 36 G.

Agree that boat necks look good- ditto, cowl, square, sweetheart and any other neck you like as long as you pull it off with confidence.

VivaLeBeaver · 28/03/2011 13:39

Doesn't even look good on the model.

FebreezeYourJeans · 28/03/2011 15:32

sweetheart, shawl collar and the dreaded v all suit my 34ffs. Weirdly I feel more exposed in a high necked, it's as if my boobs enter the room before I do. They would look simply enormous in that dress.

BelligerentGhoul · 28/03/2011 17:11

It looks far too big for the model.

I am large of nork and quite like slash necks, if worn with a cardigan or jacket over the top to 'shape' it a bit.

Not over-fond of that dress though tbh.

WhatsWrongWithYou · 28/03/2011 22:44

I'm with Tethersend. Somehow v-necks are too angular on my 30Gs. I have to have something round-necked underneath to soften the hard line. And I'm much happier in sweetheart/boat/scoop/draped. Polos aren't too bad when ski-ing either.

Maybe it is something to do with width - my back is narrow - 30 band is quite small for someone 5'7'' tall i think.

But with that dress the waist seam would be wrong for me - can't wear anything with a seamed waist as it never sits in the right place and makes me look fat.

I'm starting to feel sorry for the M&S website models. They always look so apologetic these days.
