I admit I'm an ex-Kerastase addict...but I've recently started to think more about what I buy and I've been horrified at some of the things I have found out. So I wondered if anyone could recommend any more ethical product ranges for hair, skin, make up etc that are still good quality and do the trick? I'm thinking ethical in terms of animal testing, fairtrade ingredients where applicable and organic/green.

Haven't investigated cosmetics, but we use Faith in Nature shampoo, conditioner, handwash and shower gel which I'm happy for the DSs to use too and DH is also happy to use them so we all win!

Lush
Neals yard
Dr organics (website or holland & barratt stock) have used their shampoos
for cosmetics Beauty Without Cruelty
Body shop

Not sure Body Shop fall into that category now they are owned by L'Oreal.

Have a look at Ila products, info on their web page on how ethically sourced they are. Their Rose Face Oil is amazing.

Lush products are full of parabens!
You should look for things without mineral oils, silicones and parabens, and that includes makeup.
I review natural skincare products, am also preparing features on makeup, if you're interested I've featured loads of cleansers, creams, bath & body products, baby stuff......make up, hair care and household coming too!

There are loads out there. It's often best to decide what matters most to you before you start looking. Are you after all organic, avoiding animal testing, interested in fair trade?

I highly recommend Jason shampoos. Their lavender one worked really well for me when I had a spell of thinning hair. They are very natural and not tested on animals. If you are after all natural make-up and don't mind dusting I love Lily Lolo mineral make up. Also very natural and not tested on animals.
Sets my husband's allergies off though so it had to go

A friend of mine recommends Lavera (sp?) foundation for dry skin. It takes a bit of research to find things that work for you but it's worth it.

Lavera make up is fab, is one of the ones i'm going to be reviewing, along with Lily Lolo. LL is great if you like loose mineral powders.
Jason products are good, the only thing to keep in mind is that they do contain sulfates....
I would go with A'Kin, Avalon Organics or Blossom Organic for shower gels
