... a person who is 44 years, 5' 10" and a size 16 verging on 18 but on a fitness kick so hoping not to get to an 18?? I am hopeless, totally hopeless! I either look like my granny or a bag lady, sometimes even both together! I love Joules and Boden but only buy them for dd as i feel i'm too fat to look nice. I have big boobs, hips and calves and like comfy clothes and flat shoes but still want to look nice and kind of casual / yummy mummy, if that is even remotely possible. Dh is giving me a (small) shopping budget for some spring clothes and i have no clue where to even start! Please take pity and help me out before i resort to shopping with my mum in Eastex!!
Thank you sooooo much :-)

Also, if it helps - i love this look www.toast.co.uk/catalogues/2255f36d/early+spring.htm page 117, but the girl in those pictures is about a size 6. Is it possible to make that work on a large person do you think?

Have a look on the website shopstyle.co.uk. Search " mums " or "mama" or "country " under the drop down menu "looks" and you'll find some ideas. Or, search the group " chic mummies". Some are bonkers and clearly not going to be mums for a while, but there are some interesting ideas.
Or for cheap easy window shopping, you can just type " red cardigan" under the drop down menu "all products" for example, and all the high street options will come up xxx
Beware - addictive xxx

You are not too fat to look nice! And you are nice and tall. Do you have a waist? Maxi skirts/ dresses might look good (covering hips and calves?). Bold prints also keep you in scale iyswim. I am short so not sure what else would be good.

Thanks very much, i love the maxi skirt idea, will have to work out what to wear on my feet though (i'm guessing my dr Martens won't do lol). I'm off to check out that website now :-)
