Sad, thin, overplucked eyebrows. Is there anything out there to restore a more lustrous look?!

That's it really. Hideous overplucking as a teen = perma-surprised, thin brow look. I used to have really bushy ones too. Anyone come across a cure for this?!
Thanks, docket

Watching with eyes framed by 4 hairs

MadreInglese · 23/03/2011 12:44

get pregnant

your eyebrows will spread from your forehead to your cheekbones!

(I realise this is a little drastic and am sure someone else will be along soon with a sensible solution)

TheCrackFox · 23/03/2011 12:45

I would gladly donate some of mine. Years of plucking, waxing and threading have only made them bushier. Sigh.

If only I could transfer hair from my upper lip.....

I AM pregnant. They grown down by my eyelids just not next to where the actual brow is.

bunjies · 23/03/2011 13:05

Apparently using an eyelash serum can help. There are a few threads about them on here.

Havingkittens · 23/03/2011 13:06

That Rapid Lash serum is supposed to help with brows too isn't it?

minibmw2010 · 23/03/2011 13:30

I use the Jinny Lash conditioner, been using it for about 3 months now and they do appear healthier/thicker to me.

MadreInglese · 23/03/2011 13:41

bummer Bratfink

I can't wait til after this pregnancy when hopefully my bordering on werewolf costume appearance if it wasn't for waxing hair growth will return to normal!

tangerinajolie · 23/03/2011 13:46

Massage with good old vaseline every night can encourage regrowth (seriously - trust me I'm a beauty therapist!)

MoreSenseThanMoney · 23/03/2011 13:49

Castor oil is supposed to be good - there are loads of rave reviews on Makeup Alley. I tried it myself and definitely noticed a difference - lots of new hairs grew where I hadn't had them for years. I got lazy and stopped using it but keep meaning to start again.

sue52 · 23/03/2011 14:38

I fill in the gaps with Benefit's browzings. It works a treat.

docket · 23/03/2011 14:38

Thanks. I will try castor oil and/or vaseline in the first instances. Here's hoping (may your brows grow too Bratfink)

Cod liver oil....organic if you can get it. Don't use it on your facial skin though, unless you want a 5 o'clock shadow!

Havingkittens · 23/03/2011 15:35

MoreSenseThanMoney - I think you've safely put me off the Oil Cleansing Method there Grin. If rubbing castor oil into your face makes more hair grow then it's a one way ticket to the circus for me.

Duna · 23/03/2011 15:42

Another vote for vaseline at night. Are you still plucking them or will they simply just not grow anymore? If it's the former then I'd say to swallow your pride, leave them alone for a few weeks (bar the stray hairs further down) then go to a really good beauticians and have them put in a new shape. You might have to fill them in a bit with a pencil for a while, but they'll get into a nicer shape eventually after a few visits.

Also, how dark are your brows? I find tinting helps when I'm trying to make mine look thicker.

wendihouse22 · 23/03/2011 15:58

OoooH Sorry meant Organic Castor Oil!!

Alouiseg · 23/03/2011 16:04

Find a decent threader who can do eyebrow dying too. Have a shape dyed in and if you like it try brow tattooing its very effective. When done well obviously.

MoreSenseThanMoney · 23/03/2011 16:28

Having kittens - yes, I did wonder about that too!

I have tried the OCM and didn't seem to have any extra facial hair but it was in winter and I'm very fair so maybe I did have a bit of a blonde 5 o'clock shadow going on and didn't notice it Grin

Perhaps it's ok as the castor oil is less concentrated in the OCM? Off to check facial hair in a magnifying mirror now.

Rapidlash. I use on my lashes and brows, and both are thicker.
