Slim/straight leg jeans- where?

Hello lovely stylish ladies. I'm after a decent but not expensive pair of dark straight or slim leg jeans. Def not skinny please- they don't suit me at all. Need 33 inch leg preferably, 32 will not be long enough. Am a size 12 but don't feel comfortable with low rise. Need to be available to buy online as I live at the arse end of nowhere a long way from most decent shops.
Any suggestions/recommendations?

I've got Marthas from TopShop and find them flattering.

lackaDaisy · 23/03/2011 10:08

I've got Levis CurveID and love love love them. I don't know how their returns service is though, so if you don't know your exact size, probably a bit hard work buying online.

Would second Topshop Marthas (had them pre-dd and was great) and maybe have a look at Roxanne by 7 For All Mankind (pricy though!)

tulpe · 23/03/2011 11:58

Martha's are great but I find them annoying with the constant hitching up of them.

La Redoute has some great straightleg styles which have a decent rise on them without being frumpsville.

Boden straight leg jeans are also good.

ellangirl · 23/03/2011 12:16

Thanks everyone. It would seem Topshop only stock black martha jeans now Shock so that one might be a no go. Definitely can't afford 7 for all mankind unfortunately. Will have a look at the other suggestions. Has anyone tried/got GAP straight jeans??

I love River Island jeans. They do straight leg and are not low rise.

malinkey · 23/03/2011 12:34

Muji are good - the pair I bought were about £15. Not sure if they do them online though...

sahminspain · 23/03/2011 12:54

I bought some Primark ones recently and they are a nice slimming dark rinse. The only qualm I have is that the waist appears to have stretched so I have to wear a belt with them.

gregssausageroll · 23/03/2011 13:49

Dorothy Perkins were recommended to me a while back. Still not bought but will be soon.

pink4ever · 23/03/2011 14:00

Peacocks!(yes really!). Have only recently discovered their jeans and they are great. Got the straight and bootcut styles(dont care if they unfashionable!) and they are a great fit.Sit nicely on the belly button, hold you in and I dont need to keep hitching them up at the waist, which I did with new look ones,my usual haunt for jeans.

Believe it or not I just bought some slim leg jeans from Matalan today of all places, they fit fantastically and cost only a tenner!! Could not believe it. I have the 31" leg but I think they may do longer. Have a look if you have one near you.

snowmummy · 23/03/2011 20:18

I second River Island. H and M are worth a try too.

Gillybobs · 23/03/2011 20:22

I will only buy Gap Real Straight or Boden straight legs. Both excellent and no muffin top at all.

LargeGlassOfRedPlease · 23/03/2011 22:05

warehouse usually good

ellangirl · 24/03/2011 13:22

Thanks everyone for your suggestions. Gap don't seem to want to do a long leg in my size. River island don't have any long ones in straight leg styles either. Warehouse don't have any. Matalan don't go long enough. H&M don't seem to have that much online in the way of straight legs unfortunately. Can't get to primark or MUJI. Boden's have got terrible reviews- they can't be that bad surely? If I'm ever near a levis store I'll have a look at their jeans-like the sound of all the different fits.
SO, going to try some Uniqlo and la redoute online which I never would have thought of for jeans before, and can look in DP and peacocks where I live (oh the excitement eh!)
Thank you again!!

Hi Ellangirl I've got the gap real straight and they are a nice fit and not too skinny. They come i a nice dark blue wash too. H&M do some good jeans too if i remember rightly.

malinkey · 24/03/2011 13:56

Did I say Muji? I meant Uniqlo sorry. Blush

The ones I bought were about £15 and I think they're nicer than the ones that are about £30 - softer and more stretchy. They had them in a variety of colours too - but this was at the end of last year, I haven't been in for a while.

ellangirl · 24/03/2011 17:24

Hah, shows what I know about muji- just knew I don't live near one!
