There's another thread (Fab or Chav) for debating the ups and downs of Pandora.

This thread is for Pandora lovers to chat about charms/clips/chains etc.

I have only just started my bracelet and have a giraffe (to remember Kenyan engagement), a Princess & the Pea (fave fairytale) and a ring of hearts.

What do you have/covet...let's ooh & aah together :)

Do some people consider Pandora chavvy then? Crikey, people THINK too much sometimes Wink

My parents bought me one to mark the birth of DS. His initial, DH's initial, a star to represent me and a dog for our dog! Love it. DH topped it up with some green twinkly ones and a pumpkin (DS was born in October) for Xmas. Can't wait for more!

I recommend a safety chain. It was one of the first things I got. I have the daisy one. My bracelet is about 3/4 full too and even though I've only got silver, murano glass and the odd gemstone one there's still a few hundred quid of charms on there. I take photos of it too when I get new charms, partly because my Mum and MIL want to know what I've got, but also so I've got a record of them all for insurance purposes.

I like that idea bilbo must take a photo tomorrow!

Stylenotfashion they aren't much bigger than the normal ones.

bilblio I must get mine insured, what would you recommend? Can I bung it on the house insurance?

auntpetunia · 23/03/2011 22:11

I love mine, I don't have a bracelet but have a necklace, one of the nice silver ones as am not really a braclet person, have 4 charms so far.

Mine would be covered on our contents insurance. We have to specific any item which is worth more than £2000, but we definitely don't have any items worth that much. :) I'd guess that's pretty standard for insurance policies too because ours was just a bog standard one. It's worth checking though.

The photographing thing was something my Dad started doing years ago. My Mum has some quite old, unusual jewellery. I think there'd been a spate of burglaries around them so they got it all valued, and the jeweller suggested they also took photos as they might help with recovering any items if the worst happened.
If Dad gets Mum any new jewellery they keep all the receipts detailing exactly what the item is, what grading the stones are etc.

Just reading back, I make Mum sound like she's showered with jewellery. :) She's not, but it's amazing how quickly the value of these things can add up.
