Classic White Shirt

Please help me!

I would like a white shirt a bit like this one - love the high collar, but I cannot find one anywhere. www.redonline.co.uk/food/food-news/lorraine-pascale-s-baking-made-easy

I want the material to be quite thick, not see though or cheap looking. I'm prepared to pay £100 - £150.

Any ideas?

Anne Fontaine is one brand you could try. Some of them are very fussy (beloved of the diamante jeans brigade), but she does lots of beautiful plain ones too. My women barrister friends (who have to wear white shirts in court) swear by them.

T.M. Lewin are easily dismissed and probably not luxe enough for your price range, but they have a few different cuts and some of the more fitted ones are brilliant. Their cotton is much better quality than Thomas Pink (used to work for them as a student and have lots of their shirts but they're so ropey I'd never pay retail for them).

Another thought - towards the top of your price range, you could have one tailored to your exact measurements (and subsequent ones would be cheaper as there would be no pattern-cutting cost involved).

Thanks very much, useful ideas... I hadn't thought of having one tailored!

Agree with you about Thomas Pink, will check out Anne Fontaine!
