Good shopping in bristol plus hairdressers?

Is Cabot Circus any good? When I look at their website, it looks like lots of high-end high street shops whereas my preference (and budget!) is for a mix of one off shops/antique, charity & junk shops/ few more cheap n cheerful chainstores thrown in. Is there another area like this in Bristol that I would be able to spend most of the day mooching about it or is Cabot Circus & Broadmead really the only option?

Plus hairdressers- can anyone recommend one in Bristol near where the good shopping is? Is there anything nearby that could do a straightforward cut n blowdry for an amount that won't make me choke on my nescafe? I don't know Bristol at all and so would appreciate any recommendations.

Park Street and Clifton have small boutiques as well as mainstream up market chains like Jigsaw etc.

i know of someone who had a very bad colouring experience at Aveda in Cabot Circus.

Are you moving there or just visiting?

Paul Sten in Park Street is good - Sarah or Paul himself.

I think you would like Gloucester Rd lots of quirky one off boutiques, hairdressers too.
It's a very long road but has lot's of coffee shops to ease the way.

Go to Bath instead if you want more one-off and quirky things. They have all the big chains as well (new shopping centre opened recently) but lots more independents within a fairly small, easily walkable area in the centre of the city. Lots of good cafes and restaurants too. I would always go for a day's mooching in Bath instead of Bristol - there are some nice bits here, like Clifton, Park Street, Gloucester Road etc, but they are rather scattered - Bath is much more compact.

Yes, hadn't thought about that - I only go to Bristol to get hair done, other shopping and mooching much better in Bath.
