dress that can be worn smart or smart/casual

Please can you help me find a dress that I can wear for a wedding in June but that I can also wear for more casual things during the summer because I am majorly lacking in funds!

Ideally it will be something that I can breastfeed in quite discretely as DH is the best man and won't be around to help hide me but I can always move somewhere quiet and/or use a pashnina to cover up. And will cost under £100. I normally live in jeans but would really like to look well groomed and a bit glam.

I have no idea where to start looking or what type of thing to look for Confused

All help/suggestions welcome!

You can un-smart almost any dress by wearing a denim jacket or contrasting cardigan on top, or a long sleeved white tee underneath, together with black ankle-length leggings and flat sandals/gladiators/ballerinas underneath. This layering also has the advantage of making summer dresses wearable for three quarters of the year.

I don't have kids so can't advise on styles best for breastfeeding, but a shirt-waister or a wrap-over sounds like it could be a good, easy cut.

Something like this?

Been off google-ing......not having much luck.

Thanks thomasbodley-hadn't really thought of layering etc-definately makes good sense! And a wrap over would be ideal...

Mrsseanbean-I like the idea of those dresses as they look very easy to wear but none of the colours would suit me, the colours that would a bit more are in patterns and look a bit mumsy for me, I'm 28.
Something like that in a spring type colour and wrap over would be perfect!

How about this? Not really a spring colour though; it comes in slate or white, but would be easy to dress up or down.

I love that dress! Looks so classic and simple and easy to accessorise. The colour issue comes from my step mum in-law (i suppose that is what she is Hmm) has just trained as a colour consultant-colour me beautiful type thing, and did a free consultation for me last week-I apparently am SPRING. She has told me that I must wear the right colours. I have trouble enough shopping but now having set colours to look for I think it will be impossible Shock
I really love the slate colour-but...I must never wear grey..
Is the white pictured on there-I can't see it? If it is off white it would work....but is white ok for a wedding?
Sorry for the ramble Grin

FauxFox-I like the coral wrap dress and the jade wrap dress-off to look closer....

Good point about the white. You are right, I don't think it's pictured in white - the pictures which look as if they are the white version are actually of other styles (odd).
