Which one of these two Whistles dresses?

MisSalLaneous · 19/03/2011 10:09

I want to buy a dress in the Whistles sale, but can't make up my mind between two.

On this link - should I go for sleeveless Jungle Cat or 3/4 sleeve Animal Utility?

I like the colour of the first better, but then, AU will hide flabby arms. I'm a size 14 with hip issues, so either will do for that.

Hoping to order before end of today, so please help me decide!

Thanks ever so much.

Btw, off-OP, but this Boden maxi dress is fabulous for summer if anyone looking for something similar. Heavy fabric, hangs nice, very flattering over bum and hips.

If you want to hide your arms then the animal utility. I have it and its amazing. It is quite dark though.

morethanyoubargainfor · 19/03/2011 10:15

i would go for the sleeveless, but don't listen to me i know nothing when it comes to S&B.

ongakgak · 19/03/2011 10:15

I would go for the 1st one, the second looks a bit too autumn winter now. At least with the 1st you can sling a thin gauge knit/denim jacket/blazer over it if you are cold. Like them both though. Some other MN bought the second one a couple of weeks ago, Kittya? I think was her name, you could PM her?

yes, Im here!! Smile it is dark. I wear it with black tights.

MisSalLaneous · 19/03/2011 10:21

Oh brilliant, thanks for the quick replies. Kittya, I wondered which one you had, saw you mention an animal print one on here before.

It'll be a bit too much to have both (e.g. wearing one every other week?), won't it? I'm hoping to wear to work, but think once every two weeks. Or too much / obvious?

dont ask me, Ive got five Whistles dresses, Im addicted to them!! the style just suits me. Not sure about work though, they do come up short! Smile

MisSalLaneous · 19/03/2011 10:25

Ah no, I was hoping it was giant models! I don't think I look good in too short as I eat too much chocolate.

Hmm, what to do. I'm 1.67 tall. How much above knee would you guess?

OP posts:
kittya · 19/03/2011 10:28

whats that in feet?!!! Im 5ft 5ins and they tend to come up at the front so just sit above my knees slightly.

MisSalLaneous · 19/03/2011 10:32

I have no idea - will find conversion site in a minute. Just above the knees should be ok, I think.

=
5' - 5 7/10" (feet, inches and tenths-of-an-inch)

OP posts:
MisSalLaneous · 19/03/2011 10:36

So similar height.

I love them both! The idea of a light jacket over for work for sleeveless might work.

Except for length, is Animal (3/4) too casual (with pockets) for work?

How are Whistles dresses for size? Should I just go for my usual size or bigger or smaller? Sorry for the many questions, but with dh away on business and a toddler with me when not working, I can't go to a shop to try in the next couple of weeks.

MisSalLaneous · 19/03/2011 16:20

Update: I bought the first one. Was swayed by the fact that it is a bit longer than the utility one. Fingers crossed it'll look nice in real life too. Thanks for everyone's help.

I hope you like it! The sizing is fine. Let me know how it goes

MisSalLaneous · 19/03/2011 18:51

Thanks kittya. Will update when I've tried it. If wearing it with tights, black will do, won't it?

OP posts:
kittya · 20/03/2011 08:50

I hope so, thats all I wear. I think footless tights will look nice also.

MisSalLaneous · 20/03/2011 09:12

Ok good. I owe you - thanks for all the help.
