Beware buying from Trilogy Jeans

Before giving up my office job I hadn't worn jeans everyday like I do now I'm a mum, and although I scrimp on cheap tops and sometimes find myself looking in the mirror and wondering how I could have let myself leave the house like I have, the one thing I stand by is having decent good quality and well fitting jeans. Trilogy were supposed to be very good, well they were, when it came to selling me two pairs of jeans, but the quality on both was terrible and if it had been any other high street store I'm sure they'd both have been replaced, but for each pair Trilogy have been adamant they would not put right. So before you believe the jargon in Grazia about their customer service, believe me it's shocking when they are not replacing faulty designer jeans!

A friend had a faulty pair from selfridges which were replaced instantly, so instead of supporting a smaller private company I'm going to stick with the professionals, then pop over to Primark for the rest of my attire!

Sorry to read this BabyFreddy - had only heard good things about Triology up until now.

Can I be cheeky and ask which brand of jeans you brought from them - or were they Triology ownbrand? If its not Triology ones, would it be worth going directly to the brands customer services?

Emo76 · 17/03/2011 16:16

yes which brands were the and what went wrong? If they are faulty then isn't there thesale of goods act to fall back on?

BabyFreddy · 19/03/2011 08:40

Thanks, yes I'll contact J Brand directly in California as there is no office in the UK, will update when I get through.

The manager is so rude and unhelpful and simply refuses to send the jeans back to the manufacturer, will look into the Sale of Goods Act too, thanks for the advice!!

Bloody awful shop I completely agree. Told my husband I could have a complete refund if I didn't like my birthday present jeans just to make the sale; then, when I went to return them, told me they didn't do refunds.

I hate shops like this.

Still, the recession will soon put them out of business.

BabyFreddy - what was wrong with them?

I once bought some Paper Denim Cloth jeans and they developed a big hole after I washed them the first time. I was incredibly annoyed but too chicken to try to take them back (they were not from Trilogy). I think the reason they developed a hole is because they had that slightly worn look and obviously the fabric had been weakened through the "distressing" process. But it was certainly not the look I was going for !!!!

BabyFreddy Did you buy your jeans on your credit card? If they cost more than £100 I think you're entitled to report the transaction to your credit card company if you believe the shop is refusing to refund you in contravention of consumer legislation.

The credit card people will refund your money back onto your card and investigate the transaction. The shop has 60 days (I think) to satisfy the credit card company that they have acted legally; if they can't the refund to you is permanent.
