Getting legs in shape?

katykoo · 17/03/2011 13:16

Any hints or tips on how to get my horrible, spotty legs in shape for exposure?
They have been covered up for 6 months and I am going on holiday next month. Someone suggested body brushing?

TIA

Body brush, exfoliate and moisturise. Bit of fake tan too if you're partial to that?

It works! I've been doing it for three weeks now, and slathering a bit of soap and glory cellulite cream on too, and my skin is so much nicer. Still got cellulite of course, but my skin is a lot better than it was (like a pebbledashed wall)

I urge you to have a go!

Thanks you two. Nothing wrong with a bit of fake tan... But how does one body brush exactly?

Depends on how much effort you want to make.

My leg 'boot camp' would probably include body brushing, Rodial Bum Lift (££££), 30 Day Shred (ideally everyday - or at least 5 days a week), fake tan - and a universal contour wrap a day or two before departure.

Need a firm bristled brush. Brush towards the heart briskly, spending at least 2 minutes on it. Jury is out on whether it improves cellulite, but it makes my skin feel softer.

Oh - and low carb diet always makes my cellulite look better!

I have heard that coconut oil or jojoba oil help, plus using a very gentle body wash, and mild exfoliation using AHA or BHA (salicylic acid) or brushing. Also heard that a moisturiser with lactic acid might do the trick. A multivitamin supplement might be in order too.

Haven't got much cellulite its more goose bumpy than orange peel. I suppose after months of darkness and neglect! Reckon they need a little tlc and time spent on them.

notyummy Thankyou, did 3 days of the 30 day shred just after Christmas, dvd gathering dust at the moment. Will give it another go!

katy you need a brush like this for skin brushing:

Always brush towards the heart, following each stroke with your other hand to stop your legs getting sore if that makes sense?

I had awful cellulite before I low carbed. It was the only thing that got rid of it.

lilacisinlove · 19/03/2011 09:05

Get yourself some Fitflops or similar too.

smilesandsun · 19/03/2011 11:01

Ok, So I'm going to try this too. Will be getting the body brush today. What is the best fake tan to use on really pale pasty white skin?? I think i'd like something that is very light and gradually builds up.

Just an update on my leg situation. Have been body brushing, exfoliating and moisturising since Saturday, not 'shredding' unfortunately notyummy. However I am amazed at the results even after 4 days!! Certainly see a difference in the condition of my legs. They feel so much smoother and look better already, bit of Johnson's Holiday Sun at the weekend and Bob's your uncle. I might even expose them to some light. Thanks ladies!!!!!!
