Does bio oil work on scars??? Anyone tried it?

I have lots of little scars on my legs from picking at ingrown hairs. Sad Blush

It has just occurred to me (duh) that I will be ashamed to show my legs in summer!

Has anyone found anything that works on scars? I'm tempted to buy some bio-oil to try but don't want to waste my money if it doesn't do what it says on the bottle.

I used it on my face due to red allergy rash scars and yes it did reduce the redness.

I think there's a cheaper version available in places like homebargains but I don't know what it's called! I have seen it though I just can't bring it to mind.

If you know anyone who is a costco member they do two big bottles for £11 (haven't been to costco so it may have risen) I'm sure someone else will know the cheapest place to get it though. eBay is always worth a try.

It is a good moisturiser and has pink colouring which can smooth out the colour in a white scar. But it doesn't change the scar itself. They have been done by the ASA for false claims.

Thanks for replies. I think I will find best price and give it a try, at least my legs will be moisturised if nothing else.

I know it won't work miracles, wouldn't think to use it on an old large scar I have for example, but figured it may help fairly recent scars to heal a little.

I tried it but I think I was allergic to it - typical - so if you have allergies it may not be ideal.

Hmm no allergies as such but I do have sensitive skin. Hmm

You could try phyta oil or lotion. It's all natural so should be ok for sensitive skin (although it is highly fragranced) and contains rosehip oil which is supposed to help repair damaged skin. I know some people who have been very pleased with the results.
