I would really LOVE a mulberry bag.Dont really want to pay full price, dont mind second hand in good condition, but definitely dont want fake.

Ebay seems like a good place to start so can anyone point me in the right direction,to a nice mulberry bag,in good condition, not too big in tan/brown the in your opinion is genuine.

Sorry if this is a big ask,but I will return the favour,promise[smile}

Thanks hotchpotch, really not into fakes, just not for me.

Think I will try some of the outlets suggested on this thread.Only problem is its going to have to be over the phone as we live miles from any of them.

Dh is flying out of Geneva via heathrow in May so might get him to have a look there.

Lilaloves I didn't mean to insinuate you invited rudeness, just that you wouldn't, for example, phone Hobbs or wherever and say 'I'm looking for a dress, somthing floaty' and expect them to describe every floaty dress they have in. They are also quite careful to make sure you know what you are getting and expecting when selling over the phone so that you don't return an item saying it's not what you thought it would be, a risk with a style you are not familiar with. In store, at the outlets, they don't do returns, well you can have a credit note but jot your £ back, whereas when selling over the phone they have to comply with distance selling regulations and refund you if you are not happy. So they describe what you will get very carefully to minimise the risk you will ask for a cash refund.

Also they don't only have past seasons styles, they also have current ones that gave failed quality control, or have been very slightly damaged, a scratch etc

Puravida is right :)

I didnt ask her to describe every bag.I asked for black or tan in a structured tote style,ie a bayswater, somerset tote,or something similar she could recommend.
They had nothing,so range can hardly have been huge!

If it had been a style I was unfamiliar with I would have checked style out online before buying.

Maybe I have just very high standards when It comes to customer service.

Having worked in Harvey Nichols as a student we had to bend over backwards for customers So was suprised at standards.

And we did have to find items for people over the phone.
Sometimes we had to hunt round the store for gifts after being given a brief criteria, gift wrap them then charge and send!

I agree with lila, if they know their products they should be able to recommend something. Then you could go away and google for images so that you were sure of what you were buying.

I hate bad customer service and it sounds like they had no idea going by their comment thinking you were out of earshot.

Bicester Village would be worth a call. I live nearby and have bought from there before. DH went in several years ago to buy me a birthday present too, didn't know what he was looking for as it was a complete surprise to me and the sales assistants in there bent over backwards to help and advise. If I was going this week I would look for you but I'm not unfortunately.

Lila, if you plan to buy it, call the terminal shop your DH is flying and ask if they have one, they can get one for you from other terminal shops/ or other shops... The bayswster in classic colours are flying from them... So it's better to organise( they are v helpful) and also DH can pay on way to and collect on the way back...

Good luck with your bag!

I think thats crap customer service, even if they were busy they should not make a customer feel like a pain in the ass over the phone. She's spending a serious amount of money, she should have had better service.

I go to Shepton Mallet, and sometimes I find the assistants next to useless, or just not that interested... shame.

Does it have to be Mulberry lila?
