I just receivedthis from ebay. Googled the label (Gold Hawk) and it's coming up as £150 and upwards for a skirt Shock

Did I do well, or am I looking in the wrong place??? 'Tis a beautiful skirt, and will be perfect for my Gran's 90th in a few weeks.

are you serious?

gregssausageroll · 12/03/2011 18:14

Yeah! For your gran to wear? Sorry if it is for you but my first thought would be my nan would wear it. Does nothing for me.

purplepidjin · 12/03/2011 18:21

Fair enough.

You are pleased with it, so that's good. Not come accross this brand. Put a pic on your profile and let me put my judgey pants on?

FourFortyFour · 12/03/2011 18:27

We can't say if you got a bargain or not when you haven't said what you paid for the skirt. It is visible for 1 second so can't comment on anything about it.

TrillianAstra · 12/03/2011 18:28

Bargain!

Obviously people who buy/like Gold Hawk in real life are not big ebayers, or else you would have had some competition.

maybe because they are all over 60 Wink

boohoohoo · 12/03/2011 18:29

Oh, I like it, definitely something I'd wear!!! Well done

TrillianAstra · 12/03/2011 18:30

Just scroll down FFF - she paid £18.99 for it and was the only bidder.

boohoohoo · 12/03/2011 18:31

I'm not 60!!!!! Bloody far from it!!!!!

FourFortyFour · 12/03/2011 18:31

Thank you TA. I will go and have a look.

purplepidjin · 12/03/2011 18:31

Scroll down - the listing is below the stupid advertising.

£18.99

It's not a brand I've ever heard of, and as 99% of my family are over 60 it's obviously not popular round here!

FourFortyFour (clearly not an eBay regular!) - just scan down the page for details.

Not my cup of tea, but I also love a bargain. I bought a beautiful silk dress that I wore at my brother's wedding for about £6.20.

sloggies · 12/03/2011 19:02

Ahh, seen it now....yes, you will be able to wear this for ever. Hope you enjoy it for your party!

purplepidjin · 12/03/2011 19:14

Just FYI, it's not my normal kind of thing (ie it's not denim) but it will be tolerable for an afternoon of making small talk in a loud voice to very very very old people. And my mum and aunt will be Envy too lol

It will all depend on what you wear with it.

I'm getting vibes of Molly Ringwald in Pretty in Pink. Will be perfect for your Gran's party. Maybe wear with black lacy tights and black twinset to "toughen" it up a bit?

i love an ebay bargain - makes you feel so much better wearing it - which let's face it is what it;s all about (I mean confidence)

IngridBergmann · 12/03/2011 20:03

I think it's really pretty. I would not wear it. But it's very pretty. Well done Smile

purplepidjin · 12/03/2011 20:11

Probably nude shoes and tights, plain white tshirt and comfy cardi. I may even venture as far as makeup, although chances are that would cause too many heart attacks...

It's a unique take on this seasons catwalk trends, well done you Smile
