bear in mind I am a more mature person!

They fit reasonably well but not sure if they are nice or a bit old fashioned. would wear with skirts and linen trousers.

I don't think they are ££ really. I also have some similar to this:

and these

but they are no good for long distance walking.

I think they are cute, but only in the brown (I have an aversion to white shoes). If it helps, I'm 37. They're not a style I would necessarily choose due to personal taste - but I think they'd look great with linen trousers, wear them with a knee-lenght skirt or similar and they may sway towards mumsy...

52Girls · 12/03/2011 12:56

I'm 38 and I wouldn't wear them. They're a bit boring, the tan-ness, the shape; they look slightly heavier at the back, sort of out of proportion and I do like an 'in proportion' shoe. Smile Each to their own.

detachandtrustyourself · 12/03/2011 12:59

The top shop ones are cheaper and cute, , (I would say £10.00 would be a fairer price for those),but the ones you show are better value and not at all frumpy.

The soles have grip and raise your feet off the ground a little without being clompy, (I like clompy, most of the time, but can see these are more dainty, so often dainty sandals have very thin soles that you can feel the ground through in a horrible way), the insoles are padded, the leather looks softer and like it won't cut in. They don't look at all frumpy to me. (45 but always seen as ten years younger).

They look like they would be comfy to walk in, without looking like comfy walking sandals. I love the studs, they don't look cheap at all. I really like them, but my feet would probably be too wide for them.

amberleaf · 12/03/2011 13:35

I love the Dune ones!

But deffo not good for walkin far in id imagine

sahminspain · 12/03/2011 14:11

I live in Spain where Geox are worn by chic women in their thirties, forties etc. They aren´t regarded as frumpy here but rather quality shoes. The type of women that buy them are generally the type that shop in Massimo Dutti. My friend is a fan of their trainers and she is late thirties and stylish.

polyhymnia · 12/03/2011 14:19

sahm, seems to be the exactly the same position there as in Italy - it's a bit of a shame Geox don't have better distribution and a wider range of styles in UK. As I said, they seem to appear mostly in the more conservative/ frumpy type of shoe shop. They do have 2 stores in London, but they're very small, so range is limited and I haven't seen the funkiest of the styles there that I've seen in Italy.

gopping

"gopping"

Apt.

biryani · 12/03/2011 15:33

I think they're frumpy (even though thy're Geox) and way too expensive. i agree though that it's hard to find comfy, stylish sandals if you walk a lot. Have you tried Rieker?

WhatsWrongWithYou · 12/03/2011 16:32

I think if it was me I'd probably try and find a pair of plimsoll-type shoes - sandals don't really cut it if you have to walk a lot do they?

cabbageroses · 12/03/2011 17:22

I do have plimsols- Boden and Converse- but they are completely flat and if you walk a lot they make your/my life ache. They also make your feet quite hot and sweaty.

I have ordered them so will try on at home and see what they are like- I am not convinced, but will at least have a look.

Interested to see what you think. Absolutely agree about plimsolls. I have them too and like them but they aren't supportive enough for lots of serious walking.

CointreauVersial · 12/03/2011 18:40

I think they're absolutely fine, and will be comfortable and well-made.

Having said that, I've just bought a pair of K Shoes, which kind of blows my style credentials.

pointydog · 12/03/2011 18:55

mumsy. The heel is wrong.

Bunbaker · 12/03/2011 19:42

I wonder how many of the respondents have read that you want to walk in these shoes as opposed to just look good in them.

If I have to walk several miles in a pair of shoes comfort takes a much higher priority than style, although it would be nice to be able to find a pair of stylish and comfortable shoes.

beijingaling · 13/03/2011 00:12

I'm 25 and know exactly what you mean by needing nice shoes you can walk in and are supportive. How many brands in the Uk actually sell that?

I always buy geox in Europe and I like these sandals.

beautyspot · 13/03/2011 02:27

How supportive are those Geox ones I wonder? There's a lot of gapeing space at the sides of them. I live in sandals all the time (southern hemisphere)and know it's difficult to get stylish, comfortable, supporting sandals.

beautyspot · 13/03/2011 02:30

..I'm on my second pair of www.google.com.sg/images?client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla:en-GB:official&channel=s&hl=en&q=merrell+barrado&um=1&ie=UTF-8&source=univ&sa=X&ei=2St8TbflLYTWrQeG_NHFBQ&ved=0CFQQsAQ&biw=1728&bih=781 Merrell Barrados which I adore. They are like slippers. I bought the mesh ones so they are cool and I buy those invisible sock things to stop my stinky feet spoiling the shoes.
