Am I too old for this dress?

here I love it but I am 33 size 12 Confused I am imagining it with a cropped denim jacket and glads for SAHM type lifestyle for the summer? Mutton or nice???

Would you wear it without the jacket? Ie sit in someone's house wearing it?

I would be worried about those dodgy bits under my arms but I'm paranoid!

I don't think it's mutton but I would find it v. short too. Depends on your confidence I suppose!

5DollarShake · 11/03/2011 13:42

I don't think it's mutton, but I personally would not get any wear, least of all in the day time, out of a strapless dress that short.

Aworryingtrend · 11/03/2011 13:44

Not mutton at all but equally not running around crawling on floor with kids dress. A gorgeous dress though, do you hav any weddings/occasion coming up you could wear it for?

FauxFox · 11/03/2011 13:49

It does come with detachable straps I believe...my kids are primary age so I don't spend too much time on the floor now Smile I freelance from home and I would imagine getting lots of wear out of it if it was comfy...I think I will go in and try it on and see whether it is too short and how the top fits and then decide!

Thanks for not saying I am too past it Grin

Sorry to disagree with the consensus but unless you are very girlish looking, I think it is odd. TBA it looks suitable for age 12 or under to me!

MoonGirl1981 · 11/03/2011 13:50

It's a FABULOUS dress and OF COURSE you're not to old!!

I have one incredibly similar. I'm 30.

A denim jacket would look lovely with it. Would also be nice in the summer with flipflops and a red cardi.

belgo · 11/03/2011 13:50

It is a dress for young girls imo.

Rannaldini · 11/03/2011 13:51

not nice and a bit desperate housewives for everyday

pink4ever · 11/03/2011 13:51

If you are over 21 then avoid, avoid, avoid. Will shriek mutton imo.

FauxFox · 11/03/2011 13:53

Lol LRD I spoke too soon! I have to say the print did make me think teenager too!! Unfortunately that may be why I like it

MirandaWest · 11/03/2011 13:54

I wouldn't wear it but only because I have small breasts and it would fall down Grin. Am 35 and with some straps would wear it (although would try and fid a cheaper version).

You are all very harsh.

I would not bat an eyelid at a 33 year old wearing that lovely dress. It's impossible to look like mutton at 33!

noddyholder · 11/03/2011 14:38

Too old at 33 Hmm no way! It would be lovely with a jean jacket and converse or sandals

clitorisorclitoraint · 11/03/2011 14:57

You'll look great in it Envy

At 37 I have wobbly arms and cellulite so I wouldn't go near it.

Elemental · 11/03/2011 15:21

I think it's lovely!

FauxFox · 11/03/2011 16:06

Thanks everyone, I think it could go either way and i'll need to try on to decide Smile

Of course you are not too old for this dress - unless you look really aged? I'm 38 and am planning on going out tomorrow night in tiny needlecord shorts with high heels, and I know I'm going to rock them! It's all about attitude. SO what, you pass 30 and you're meant to wear skirt suits? If you think you look good, then you look good. Stuff what anyone else thinks - attitude attitude attitude my friend!
