Right, have known it was coming for about 16 months but have not lost the 2 stone

any tips on what I can do/avoid/not eat etc?

I have started runniing again recently, training for a 10k in September so plan to be doing that about 5 times a week, 30 mins or so a time

but the running makes me STARVING and I end up just eating all afternoon - tips on how to abstain please!

I would like to shift 10lbs/1 stone before the start of May if possible, and really want to tone my legs up

(I am also shredding 3 times a week)

What else could I do to make my skin glow, hair look glossy etc

I am very excited about this reunion and really want to feel great....

Spray tan - 8 days before. So you look 'well' but far from orange on the day.

exercsing going well, did an interval training session on the treadmill at the weekend which was very hard! but felt good...also did some weights

have reserved that lunchbox diet book from the library as it sounds quite promising

just bought body scrub and hair mask from boots and will start using ..... have been using St Ives facial scrub for a few weeks and it is FAB, my skin is looking pretty good ATM

it's nice actually taking care of myself.

managed to polish off a bottle of wine over the weekend though....just love red wine...but def sticking to none during the week from now on - booooo!

Someone mentioned low-carbing - highly recommended (by me, at least!). Just increase the protein to compensate, cut out spuds, rice, pasta, bread, cereals and sugar; the weight will fall off.

There's a couple of threads in the Diet/Weight Loss section.

Reunions are such great motivators, aren't they? Along with holidays with skinny friends. Grin

cointreau - i find it relatively easy to low carb, but much harder to cut ou sugar! I take 1 in my tea, and have such a sweet tooth that come he evening I'm raiding the cupboards for chocolate...trying to resist but failing...any hints? Evenings are def the worst - I'm alright during the day

Eltompo - The Dukan diet receommends the Fat free activia yoghurt with just little bits of fruit in - you can have 2 a day. This is what I use as my 'treat' (I know - its not the same as chocolate Grin) when I am looking to cut back. I find the low carb thing really works for me. The first time I did the Dukan I got a cracking headache which I assume was from sugar withdrawal, but I kept going, and the results were worth it - 3 kg in 4 days!! I have done it twice and find that whsilt some weight goes back on when I go back to less restrictive eating, it doesn't all - about 5o% I would say. In addition, it has completely 'reset' my approach to how many carbs I eat, and what kind, and allowed me just to make a few easy tweaks to my diet. I dont have sandwiches for lunch at work for example - I have chicken or fish with salad instead, and if I have soup, I now longer have bread with it. Don't have potatoes with a meal, and if we have rice/pasta I have a v small portion carefully weighed. Overall, am a dress size smaller than this time last year (from a 12 to a 10) and apart from about 10 days in total of 'proper' low carbing, I have eaten roughly what I want.

I had been doing a diet from this book

which allows you some carbs - no more than 60g a day whch includes the carbs found in veg,and found it really worked too

i just start getting fed up with it! I love to snack on cold meats, cheeses etc and enjoy the freedom to eat all that stuff but soon ge sick of it...but 3kg in 4 days is very encouraging

am waiting for the HArcombe book to come too which I was thinking I would do totally properly about 4 weeks pre-reunion

am dreadng the no caffeine/no alcohol part of it though

I never eat carbs with dinner any more anyway but I think that's why I start craving sweet stuff - I'm never all that full up after dinner and need more!

I quite liked the India & Neris Pig to Twig book for low carbing.

Regarding the inevitable "snack-attack" I always have nice cheese and bits of salami in the fridge - even if I think I need something sweet one of those usually sorts me out. Protein fills you up, not carbs, that's what most people forget!
