Can I brag about the dress I made??

Not actually made (not quite that clever), was a red dress my SIL gave to me but never really suited me (besides, I have a red dress which I love and like to vary my colours each day).

I've made sleeves for it, dyed the whole thing darkish purple with iDye - Violet and sewn these;

cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=180597713335&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT

all over it. Only got them today (came from Thailand or Hong Kong) and I've waited AGES to finsh it. It looks both mad and incredible and the shape and colour is most slimming!!

Am sooooo pleased!!

Thanks for letting me share!!

You made a dress with wee crochet dolls all over it??

And you're going to wear this??

MoonGirl1981 · 09/03/2011 16:44

No idea how to do the photo thing on here.

U is bonkers moongirl981Hmm

MoonGirl1981 · 09/03/2011 16:54

No, no. Not bonkers.

Round here the daily uniform seems to be leggings tucked into black uggs and a feece.

Can't stand dressing like everyone else! I like my clothes to be different.

:)

I am an ex-art student who specialised in textiles, though,so the madder the better to me... ;)

ilovesprouts · 09/03/2011 17:36

how old are you {hmm]

dexter73 · 09/03/2011 17:53

I know I'm going to sound like an old lady but how on earth will you wash it???

MoonGirl1981 · 09/03/2011 19:24

30 degree wash?

Or hand wash it?

Was planning on consulting my mum on the matter. Also got some extra crochet dolls I didn't use so can stick one in the machine and see.

I'm 29. Look 19.

Will be wearing the dress with sensible knee high boots.

I LOVE the sound of it Mooney. You are totally barking Smile

mippy · 11/03/2011 17:14

Before the dolls go on the dress, make sure you#ve put the dyed dress through the machine a couple of times to prevent running :)
