Today I wore a pair of boots which I have not worn for ages.

Put them on at 8am and wore them for four hours.

The pain almost killed me. I even took them off for a bit in Sainsburys and walked about in my pink stripey socks. Was only the broken glass on the pavement which prevented me from going home in that state.

I've spent the last few years in DMs with bouncy soles and trainers.

These boots fit, they just felt really hard.

I bought some of those party feet in Poundland on the way home but it made no difference.

Please help me! What do I do??

I have really sensitive feet and as I'm getting older (37 now)I just cant tolerate uncomfortable shoes (basically I am my Nana). I find those Party Feet pointless Im afraid

Anyway, I find boots from Clarks and FLy London like these(bit trendier than Clarks!!) very comfy

For shoes, becasue I struggle with stilleto heels its either ballet flats or this kind of thing for a bit of height. Have my eye on these for summer.

I have just been looking online (bit short of money at the moment - can't stretch to expensive boots) and found these:

cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=400173947364&vti=Ladies+Shoe+SizesUK+5+/+US+7+/+EUR+38

Am aware that they're actually hideous but I really, really like them. I find trainers comfy, I like how unusual they are and no one else round my way is likely to be wearing them.

I am sorry MoonGirl but those are beyond hideous....truly no matter how comfy they are!

I am not convinced they would be comfy my experience with super cheap footwear is that there is a price to pay somewhere....

I agree about cheap footwear. I have proper Dr. Martens which I usually wear but do wear cheaper shoes occassionally.

I love those boots!!!

Brown tartan!!

I have a similar problem. Due to the combination of a bad bunion and a fracture from dropping a motorbike on my foot I spent a long while wearing trainers and my feet became soft and feeble. Now I struggle to wear anything particularly sturdy.

I had the bunion removed and got quite excited at the prospect of all the lovely shoes I could start wearing. Sadly that's not the case. Apparently my feet will always be soft and feeble now and the bunion removal has solved one problem but caused a different problem.

Incidentally, I was told my podiatrist that ballet flats and converse were about the worst type of footwear for your feet as they provide no support and with ballet flats you also have a tendency to "clench" your foot to stop it flapping in and out of your shoe. I do wear converse still, but I wear them with orthotics in them so they do give support. The ballet flat type shoes I have to wear now have a thin strap across the front and support inside (Clarks).

Other things which seem to work for me are cork or crepe wedges which have a little give in them and also shoes which are made from suede or softer leather, or a canvas that's not too stiff (some canvas shoes are excruciating).

I would give anything to be able to wear big fuck off heels again.
