... you might be interested to know that No 7 Lift and Luminate Foundation seems to be exactly the same. It even smells the same.

Public service announcement!

ooo
thanks :-)

BitOfFun · 03/03/2011 19:26

I might give that a whirl- thanks for the tip Smile

DamnYouAutocorrect · 03/03/2011 19:30

No probs. I bought it on impulse and have been extremely smug about it ever since.

HollyBollyBooBoo · 03/03/2011 19:41

Oooh thanks for tip. Also have £5 No7 voucher so even more of a bargain.

MadameCastafiore · 03/03/2011 19:45

Blimey will go and have a look - mind you I only use it under my eyes as started after realised that touche eclait gave me reverse panda eyes so lasts for ages.

But a money saver is not to be sniffed at!

sahminspain · 03/03/2011 19:52

Thanks for the tip, I am always on the lookout for a good foundation recommendation.

DamnYouAutocorrect · 03/03/2011 21:06

Touche Eclat makes my undereye bags go flaky and scaly, think I'm allergic.

OP posts:
upahill · 03/03/2011 21:08

Oh I'm using that at the moment.
I did thin of upgrading to Chanel after seeing recommendations here but I won't bother now!!

Thanks

noddyholder · 03/03/2011 21:09

Thanks.Boots hide and chic i also v good

Maternelle · 03/03/2011 21:11

I get this too DamnYouAutocorrect.

namechangesgalore · 03/03/2011 21:13

Is your Touche Eclat old? I had the same and emailed the company about it. They said that it must be used within three months (or maybe it was six) or is more likely to cause this. If you google it seems to happen to quite a lot of people.

Anyway, they sent me a new tube and it has been fine - no allergy.

DamnYouAutocorrect · 03/03/2011 21:16

Thanks namechanges. Three months, I'd never get through a tube of TE that quickly! They should make it half the size and half the price Wink Happy with my Garnier roll on at the moment. Anyway my bags and shadows are so bad, it's almost got to the point where there's no point putting makeup on them.

OP posts:
namechangesgalore · 03/03/2011 22:00

Yep I thought it was stupid too.
I must have had this current tube a year though and it hasn't caused a reaction so I'm really not sure what's going on there.

Honeymum · 03/03/2011 22:42

Just spent £££ on the real thing but thanks - will give it a try

teej · 03/03/2011 22:50

namechanges i got that with touche eclat, assumed it was due to bacteria so chucked that one and got a new one. exactly the same thing happened. i don't know if they have changed the formulation or whatever but i can't be doing with it now.
am giving the ByTerry a whirl instead.

teej · 03/03/2011 22:51

should have said - exactly the same thing happened with newly opened tube - bought after i had given my eyes time to heal

teej · 03/03/2011 22:52

btw damnyou thanks for the tip - am working my way through Bobbi Brown but might give this a whirl next...

kittya · 04/03/2011 01:48

I'm in love with the real thing though. I may try it as back up. I never use those vouchers they give you at the till. Wish I'd kept the last one now!

Maternelle · 04/03/2011 15:00

Same thing happened to me with a brand new tube of Touche Eclat too. Although I had been using the product for years (though different tubes!)

moragbellingham · 04/03/2011 15:25

Me too - with the Touche Eclat!
I was told to wash the brush end more often by the orange ladyAngry.
Wouldn't have minded but i did used to wash it because it smelt a bit rank.. and now i know why. I was also told that it had been open too long (6 months)!!

Is the £5 No7 voucher out then?
Might try the lift and luminate for when I've finished the Maybelline eraser (which I do now think is rather good too.)

BitOfFun · 05/03/2011 17:33

Well, I bought some today- running total of MN-inspired purchases now racks up to something like £2,345.75...

I will let you know how I get on Smile

Decorhate · 06/03/2011 08:51

I discovered the No 7 as substitute for VL last year! I actually prefer the No 7 one as the Chanel gives me spots if I use it too frequently...

HollyBollyBooBoo · 06/03/2011 09:01

I LOVE those vouchers, I've needed to stock up on baby stuff lately, so split the transactions and got about 4 vouchers, so I've bought a nude lip liner (apparently a must have), the protect and perfect handcream (a bit too 'perfumy' for me but about 4 quid so who cares), a pewter eye mousse which is lovely and a tinted moisturiser for days when I can't be bothered to apply primer and foundation.

I know, I am a marketing mans dream!

FellatioNelson · 06/03/2011 09:20

Well that's all very well, OP, but I've just spent £31 on the Chanel Vitalumiere the day after you started this thread, because I didn't see it . Angry Could you use a klaxon next time please?

kittya · 06/03/2011 11:34

I'm in boots now but not very inspired
