Dress Help - Wedding C-section and Breastfeeding Dilema...

worm77daisy · 03/03/2011 11:10

I am sorry that I am posting this done to death dilema but I have gone through all the archives and still haven't got a clue what to do.

My sister is getting married on 11 June, I am having a elective c-section of 3 June, I can't find anything to wear!!! I need to be able to easily breastfeed and I shall still have a massive wobbly belly and I shall have a sore tummy from my scar so I think a skirt and top is out. I would like to wear a knee length dress but wrap around and jersey dresses and I don't get on for breastfeeding. I like the look of the empire line style feeding dresses but the only one I can find that is dressy enough is this one:

But I think I will look a bit frumpy in it?

I am 5'4", have pale olive skin, long brown hair and blue eyes. Very round bottom and smallish boobs (34B at the moment). I can streeeetch up to £250.

That looks like a lovely dress, I don't think it's frumpy and it's a good shape to cover your tummy. I have to say though, I am very impressed you will be going anywhere a week after your c section - I couldn't have managed it, that's for sure.

Thanks Elmental I don't really have a choice about going - not popular in any case due to new baby being at wedding - but that's a WHOLE other can of worms which Im not going to open here!

I am going to have to grin and bear it as much as I can, husband is considering hiring me a gold buggy from the local golf course!

I got [http://www.babeswithbabies.com/product_details.asp?product=Colette+-+Stargaze&product_id=1286 this] dress for a couple of weddings last year, first one about 4 weeks after having the baby, no CS though. I actually found it much cheaper elsewhere by googling the manufacturer (Mothers en Vogue) but I can't remember where.

They have loads of different ones on that website, but not looked through the rest recently to see if there's anything else you might like.

Poo! Link didn't work.

Nor that time. Don't know what I'm doing wrong.

Anyway, its on babewithbabies, and its called Colette.

Hi,I think you would love my site www.feedingfashion.com we specialise in pretty cotton dresses with the empire line ( I hate jersey so there is none on our site). Our dresses are very flattering on all shapes and allow for completely discreet feeding. Moms love our dresses for weddings or special occasions and we have plenty of time to the wedding to do a custom fit which we do for no extra charge. If you're interested just mention you heard about us here and I'll split the shipping with you (we're in Australia!) All the best!

BlackSwan · 04/03/2011 07:01

Mamamee - you might want to consider the rules for posting:
"Posting links and spamming
We have no problem with people posting the odd link to other sites that other posters might find useful or helpful. But we will delete anyone's attempts to "spam" the boards with links, as a way of promoting their own site or product or blog, as it annoys our members. If you'd like to know more about promoting your product on Mumsnet (without being flamed on the boards), please read about our advertisting opportunities."

Jacksmania · 04/03/2011 07:08

I think if Mamamee had started a thread to promote her website, that would be uncalled for, but as she simply responded to a poster's dress distress (not sure if that pun was actually intended :o), I think she was just trying to help. And offering to split shipping costs is very kind.

(BTW I do know we need rules, I am not arguing that. Just saying perhaps she simply didn't know.)

Thank you everyone for your help... unfortunately the search continues... I think I am now looking for a chiffon wrap dress, with a small pattern - any ideas on that front would be greatly received!!
