Maxi skirts what to wear with them?

I have 2 slinky jersey very simple maxi skirts but no idea what to wear with them.

One is taupe, the other black and grey stripes. Flat shoes just don't look right and have a fear of looking a bit gothy in them aka my younger days . Am particularly concerned about this with the stripy one. Will be sorted come proper spring as will wear with a vest and flip flops/wedge sandals but want to wear them noooow!

I wear either wedge boots or flat biker boots- this is with a plain black slinky maxi skirt.

I second the flat bikers, or maybe flat ankle boots, but that leaves a sock problem...

Plain long sleeved fitted tops are good. I wear a breton with mine - but if yours is stripey then probably not. Or this with the taupe, with a cardigan belted over.

Hey! The bitch has stolen my wedges... Except mine were from H and M...

Long sleeved top as suggested, and clog boots. I also have the clog boots but they are too fecking high and I stagger slightly in them. Not quite the look I was going for...

I am actually sadly proud of myself as the two 'looks' I thought of are actually also being done by proper fashion types on NAP.

Must get out more....
