of something new? I find that I will wear something to death after about a month it no longer excites me or doesn´t make me feel all fresh. Is anybody else as fickle as meBlush

Oh yes. Sometimes clothes don't even get worn more than once Blush. I am too much of an impulse buyer and often i buy something which only works with one other item I own. My shopping habits require an overhaul more than my wardrobe!

snap! hence my wardrobe of quality basics plan Grin

other people put their winter clothes into storage, i just charity shop them cos I know I'll hate them come next september Blush

sahminspain · 28/02/2011 18:13

EllieorOllie what a relief that I am not alone in sneaking off to the charity shop at the end of the season. Because of this my wardrobes are never bursting despite looking as though I buy a lot of clothes compared with my friends.

Me too. I am constantly ebaying stuff that I have hardly worn but have fallen out of love with Blush.

sahminspain · 28/02/2011 18:28

I never used to be like this until I started to be all experimental with my style. When I was in my twenties I was content with a pair of beige chinos and a white shirt or tshirt for months or jeans and a black polo neck in the winter. It all went wrong when my income increased.

also i get suckered into trends that don't really suit me, or particularly work with the rest of my wardrobe.
and i panic buy stuff that i don't really like at 5.20 when the shops are closing.
all of which leads to a lot of 'recycling'...

sahminspain · 28/02/2011 19:02

I worry that I might be boring, frumpy or stuck in a rut if I don´t try things yet people always compliment me when I am wearing something simple such as the other day when my friend said I looked fab in a black boatneck top and black peg leg chinos.

sahminspain that's a fab look. I was recently to be seen in a navy stripe breton boatneck and charcoal grey peg leg chinos with sleek heeled shoes. I received several compliments Blush.

Bizarrely, ladies, I have come to the same conclusion re:style. I fear being pedestrian or (even worse IMO) mumsy. So I buy things imagining how I'll layer it up etc and spend hours online trying to find something different. But what suits me best are things like skinnies and simple, boatneck tops; chinos and tees; and 50's vintage dresses with little cardigans. So I am trying to stick with that and use accessories and the way you put things together to make the look my own.

I am so fed up with stressing about clothes - what to wear or buy.

sahminspain · 28/02/2011 21:12

That's how I feel fed up stressing about it and I just want to go home to basics
