Has anyone had this done, where the fish nibble the dead skin off your feet Shock?

If so how much was it and would you go again?

They do a lot of offers for this on Groupon.

I've not had it done, but got put off it when a friend told me a friend of her works in a salon where they offer it. Her comment was "The fish don't live very long.... they don't have a very good diet Wink"

ScaredOfCows · 24/02/2011 12:31

I wouldn't think they do live very long, chewing on verrucas and athletes foot can't be the best diet ever Grin

FluffyMummy123 · 24/02/2011 12:35

theres some risk of infection transfer isnt there

fivegomadindorset · 24/02/2011 12:38

It was £10 for 15 minutes and worth every penny. Had it done when visiting friends in Kent, if there was one closer I would go every week.

SauvignonBlanche · 24/02/2011 12:39

II've had it, cost me a tenner at AppyFeet

MadreInglese · 24/02/2011 12:39

ewwwwww

even the thought of it is revolting

BiscuitNibbler · 24/02/2011 12:39

I've had it done - £10 for 15 minutes. Feet felt wonderful afterwards. I thought they would stuff themselves on my dry heels and ignore anything else, but they nibbled all over, and seemed to like my cuticles quite a lot.

fizzyliftinggas · 24/02/2011 12:40

I had it done at the Trafford Centre, £10 for 15 mins, was a strange experience and glad I did it, but IMO buy a ped egg, cheaper and more effective

FluffyMummy123 · 24/02/2011 12:41

so if you have lots of dry skin it doenst work

LCRLCR · 24/02/2011 12:42

I had it done in Brighton via a Groupon offer so it was £10 for 30 minutes instead of the normal £30. Didn't do anything for me I'm afraid apart from the novelty of the experience, feet weren't much softer so wasn't worth the full price. Worth a try but I'd rather a nice human massaging yummy smelling lotions into my feet.

BiscuitNibbler · 24/02/2011 12:42

It worked for me and my feet are horribly dry.

peeriebear · 24/02/2011 12:43

There is an Appyfeet in Nottingham, I would love to have a go but I am a bit worried about the fish being treated as equpiment rather than living things, ie how long do they live? What do they do with sick ones? Where do they live the rest of the time?
icod the info they give out states categorically that the fish do not pass infections :)

Francagoestohollywood · 24/02/2011 12:50

Fish pedicure? Are you kidding????

bogwobbit · 24/02/2011 12:54

Had it done in York. wasn't hugely nice but wasn't horrible either. feet did feel nice and soft afterwards though.

MadreInglese · 24/02/2011 13:06

yuk yuk yuk yuk yuk

you must have done something really bad in a past life to come back as one of those fish

CointreauVersial · 24/02/2011 13:09

Do they actually get through the tough dead skin?

Those tiddly little minnows - I think I'd need a tank of piranhas to work on my heels.

Havingkittens · 24/02/2011 13:40

I can't help but feel sorry for the fish. They probably eat people's foot skin because they don't get fed anything else Sad

rinabean · 24/02/2011 13:43

I feel sorry for the fish, too. I met some in the wild (well, if you can call an island off France "wild"!) and they are sooo cute. It really tickles when they nibble your feet. I'd pay for the treatment here if the fish were actually treated well.

Francagoestohollywood · 24/02/2011 13:48

I thought pedicures needed the expertise of a human being?

What if the put piranhas in the tanks Confused!?
