Crazy wedding ring

I was looking for ethical rings to use as my wedding ring, but ever since I saw this one I've been totally obsessed with it. But... it's a turtle. Hmm I'm already a bit, um, unusual in clothing and jewellery choices, but is a turtle wedding ring too crazy? I did find out that turtles are symbols of long-lastingness and stuff so that's good for a marriage, right? But... it's a turtle.

I think this could equally be an AIBU! So, what do you think?

(I do still have my eye on Mr Turtle, however)

Ah. Really pleased for you Grin Must say I prefer her more organic designs

You have to demand the turtle as a wedding present from someone. It's really not my bag, but I do love big rings and I know just what it's like when you see one you know you'll never find the like of again.

Has only happened to me twice, first instance was cheapish - big oval turquiose in sliver. The second was less so but I'll love it forever. Lapis hemisphere held in place with diamond spiral. Not so practical with small DC, but still.

Oh Hetty, I love that ring you just linked to.

It is rather lovely but no need to wear it as a wedding ring. perfectly fine as a right hand ring, I think.

True.

That ring was actually my first favourite on her site, but then I saw the heart one and I'm 5 years old inside so I couldn't resist!

Thanks again :D

But, but, but there is no heart. Not when you and DH are wearing them, each just has a totally inelegantly shaped curl.

The heart only exists when you take them off and put them together. When you've got them on they are broken hearts, what sort of symbolism is that? TBH they are one of a very few pieces on her site that I dislike.

Go with your first instinct rather than your inner teenager toddler. You can still have a matching pair. You can have hearts and 'RINA 4 DH 4 EVA' engraved on the inside of of the bands if it pleases you Grin.

I was going to make my final final choice today (after getting lots of horrifying quotes) so I came back to see if there were any more comments. Omg, you're right about the broken hearts! You have /saved/ /my/ /marriage/! :o

Now I have to go back to deliberating (which I actually quite enjoy). But I need to get a move on because the wedding is a month tomorrow

Only just seen this rina, pleased to be of service Wink. What did you choose in the end?

I think you should have the wedding ring you want, and sod anyone who thinks its odd!
