I am very excited as I hopefully will be spa-ing with an old friend soon, sadly we have limited budgets so will stick to an evening session with 3 course meal and treatment. And Wine

Trying to decide between the Rhassoul mud treatment, a facial or a back massage.

Last time I had a massage and a salt scrub.

Just for fun, what has been the best spa or best treatment you have had.

I think I could get addicted to spa-ing Hmm

I went to a spa and had a mud treatment and it was nice but then I had this weird massage thing but it was not with a human but by lying on a bed, sort of like a water bed.Wow it was great.

But I did a beauty course few years back now and I had a few facials and they were from other students practising so put me off for life!

You can never go wrong with a good massage!

ohhh I love facials, scrubs, wraps and massage though my absolute all time favourite was a hot stone massage. I honest to god droooled.

TigerseyeMum · 21/02/2011 17:54

I'd love hot stones but it's pricey!

I have opted for rhassoul mud treatment where the two of us sit in a hot room, cover ourselves with mud, then sit and chill while steam pumps at us and lights twinkle and soft music plays. Then rain falls from the ceiling to wash the mud off.

I am very hexcited Grin the 3 course Thai meal and wine sounds good too Wine

Oh that is what I had I thought I would enjoy it more but I couldn't bear covering myself in the mud, the music and water was nice though. My sisters loved it though covered head to toe in mud Grin

the rasul mud ceremony is a good option to do with a friend... you get to have a good laugh smothering each other with mud...then chat while you relax & steam it. I did this with my friend just before her wedding day. (I was her bridesmaid)......enjoy! If going on my own though, I would rather a facial.

TigerseyeMum · 21/02/2011 19:46

That's partly why we chose it, we don't get to meet very often and it is only a 3 hour spa session so it will give us a chance to natter.

I use rhassoul mud things at home and it's so good for my skin.

The feet nibbling by fish

The best spa treatment I have ever had was in the Maldives. The spa was a hut on stilts over the ocean. The massage bed was over a glass floor so whilst I was lying there being massaged, I could see the fishes swimming beneath me Smile. I had an Ayuverdic (sp?) four hand massage. Two therapists massaging at the same time. It was like a well practiced dance. Absolutely blissful Smile

I like the mud things though and would probably go for that.

Have fun

Hot stone therapy with aromatherapy oil. Bliss.

The Shire Hotel and Spa groups now offer teeth whitening along side their regular treatments. They have Spas in Northampton, Southampton, Leeds, Bristol, Manchester and Cumbria. Well worth a visit.
