Which ones are good, but not too pricey?

Ive tried a good Estee Lauder one and it erally makes a differmce to my make up but I'm trying to make cut backs so would like a cheaper brand. btu still good, if possible.

Laura Mercier but it is not much cheaper i'd think.

MayorNaze · 20/02/2011 18:33

avon magix

love it

njhc · 20/02/2011 18:38

the only primer i have ever used is the loreal one which is about £10. i thought it was great but am now tempted to try the laura mercier one as ive heard so many good things about it.
question is is it really 3x better as its 3x the price???
but to answer your question definately loreal for a cheap one, its recognised as a good primer, although the pot is small, does anyone agree with me?

boobjob · 20/02/2011 18:39

I use Benefit that gal Primer and get it for £21 in Debenhams.

I love it

njhc · 20/02/2011 18:41

umnitsa is it really woth paying extra for laura mercier? i have her tinted moisturiser and really like it, a tube has also lasted me 4 months now! also am tempted to buy pistachio scrub, do you know if thats any good? .....sorry op.x

Loreal studio secrets primer is good, it is £14 in Boots and I can really notice a difference in when I apply, pores look smaller and skin more even.

MordechaiVanunu · 20/02/2011 18:41

Benefit still rather pricey.

Avon one- do I need an Avon rep to order that?

L'oreal on-would I find that in the skincare section or with make up? I find it diffiuclt to locate any primers in Boots.

Laura Mercier is great, I use the foundation and also have tinted moisturiser! Its worth the money I think

MoonGirl1981 · 20/02/2011 18:43

Avon Magix.

By far the best and lasts ages.

stepawayfromthebiscuits · 20/02/2011 18:43

I've got the l'oreal one too - V pleased with it.

Was in the makeup section in my boots :)

MayorNaze · 20/02/2011 18:43

you can order avon online

is around £10 i think...

apple99 · 20/02/2011 18:44

Loreal is with the make up in Boots, it is in a little pot (rather than a tube) alongside the foundations.

Decorhate · 20/02/2011 18:48

If it's the Loreal one everyone was raving about last year, I ended up ordering it from Boots website as couldn't find it in any branch...

I think there are different types of primers - the Loreal one is more the polyfilla type, to smooth out wrinkles. I have the Mac primer too which is more an all-over base. It is even good without makeup on top as gives a matt finish, great if you tend to have slightly oily/shiny skin like me...

Umnitsa · 20/02/2011 19:57

njhc - I am a fan of all Laura Mercier make up. Having over the years tried all the more recognisable big brands (Estee Lauder / Dior / Lancome...) I now see that practically 90% of all my make up is Laura Mercier.

I have never bought LM bodycare - the scent is too sweet for my liking in the ones I sampled but I am sure the quality is good.

Avon Magix is fab.
