Hi, I need to get my hair cut. I naturally have a parting in the middle but I wondered if it's possible to get it cut with a side parting instead?

Hi, I get my hair cut in a side parting with a swept over fringe but then sometimes wear it in a centre parting with a full fringe.

Over the years I've had various cuts with side and centre partings, not even sure where my natural parting.

It easily possible to cut it in a different parting- whether it'll be easy for you to maintain is another thing.

For instance, do you have a cow's lick? Widow's peak? Double crown?

Often depending on how your hair naturally sits will affect how successful a particular hairstyle will be.

I don't have a widow's peak or a cow lick - not sure what a double crown is? I'm pretty sure I had a side parting at some point when I was at school and I tend to wear my hair swished over to one side anyway - it's just that without the parting on the side, it means it's forever falling back again iyswim

Double crown tends to be at the back of the head and causes the hair to stick up at an angle.

If you fancy it and aren't hampered by these then go for it... but take a picture because your idea of a side parting and theirs could be quite different!

I used to always have my hair parted in the middle where it fell naturally, but about 18 months ago decided (with my hairdresser) to move the parting to the side as I was getting really bored with my hair. It now falls naturally in the side parting. Give it a go - just dry it in the side parting and see how it looks, but you'll probably need it cutting properly with a side parting as I think they cut if differently to if it were in the centre.
