So ladies - what do you really think

So - ankle boots with skirts / dresses. I utterly hate this with few exceptions. So what do you think - a simple yay or nay?

FaffTastic · 18/02/2011 16:17

Arrgh, knew you'd start a thread on this after posting on my choice of boots Grin

I'm in the yay camp!

dexter73 · 18/02/2011 16:17

It really depends on the skirt/dress and the boots but done right I would say YAY!!

DinosaursHateUnderpants · 18/02/2011 16:18

I'm a yay too, depending on the boot.

planestrainsautomobiles · 18/02/2011 16:19

Ankle boots - definite nay
Shoe boots - yay
Mid high boots, i.e. biker boots etc - yay
Knee high boots - definite yay

voiceofnoreason · 18/02/2011 16:20

sorry faff - There is in my world a special place in hell for peep toe ankle boots.

voiceofnoreason · 18/02/2011 16:21

PTA - agree with 3/4 of you Wink

berri · 18/02/2011 16:28

Agree with PTA

FoundWanting · 18/02/2011 16:32

No. It's just wrong.

Wrong in the way those polo-neck, sleeveless jumpers were wrong.

Found Wanting - at last an ally :-)

Unfortunately, no matter how many times you post, I'm still just one ally. Grin

Where are the rest of the right-minded posters?

lackaDaisy · 18/02/2011 16:53

Oh! Didn't realise this was a faux-pas. I regularly wear skirts and tea dresses with ankle boots and a leather jacket. It's a very nice design though

bristolcities · 18/02/2011 16:53

I think the tea dress/ankle biker boots is a good look as seen on Jessica Alba(but lets face she could wear a plastic bag).

lackaDaisy · 18/02/2011 16:54

The ankle boots are of a very nice design, I mean. Must preview, must preview!

KurriKurri · 18/02/2011 16:54

I wore an ankle boot/skirt combo this very day - no one fainted in horror Grin

bristolcities · 18/02/2011 16:57

The sleeveless polo-neck and the t-shirt worn with scarf look is ridiculous because its totally impractical and try hard but cant see any thing wrong with wanting to wear a dress with ankle boots, surly a dress with knee high boots would be far more impractical?

cornslik · 18/02/2011 16:58

nay

voiceofnoreason · 18/02/2011 16:58

FW - sorry dont know how i did that! But can we really be two voices amongst the wilderness? Kurri - they may not have fainted - but were they judgey?

This is meant to be light hearted

OP posts:
KurriKurri · 18/02/2011 17:03

They may have been judgey after I left Grin. Though I was sitting at a table so my fashion calamity was well hidden!

FoundWanting · 18/02/2011 17:09

Ok then, someone please post a picture of this looking good on a normal person, ie. not Jessica Alba.

They don't even have to look that good. Just not freaky. I am willing to be converted.

Now hold on a mo here, you're changing the boundaries. I'm def the the yay camp for ankle boots but I'm firmly in the feck-right-off camp for peep toe ankle boots Grin

FaffTastic · 18/02/2011 17:14

FoundWanting - I would post a pic of myself looking not just good but fabulous in them dahling but I just wouldn't want to out myself.

KurriKurri · 18/02/2011 17:16

FW -you've seen me (and my hair), you know I am a fashion queen Grin

FoundWanting · 18/02/2011 17:18

Look a model. Styled by experts. Boots of a not inconsiderable price.

I think that if this kind of corrective footwear is required, it should be available on the NHS.

FoundWanting · 18/02/2011 17:20

Kurri I have indeed. Grin

My worn-out synapses are not allowing me to mentally link your charming and graceful self with the hideous monstrosity of the shoe-boot.

Will you be wearing them for the Play-barn meet-up?
