HD Brows - anyone had it done?

I know there was a thread about this just over a month ago, but I'd like to know if anyone has had HD Brows done?

What's good/bad about it?

I'm perfectly happy with my brows as they are (have them waxed/threaded regularly) but a friend wants to do this on me. It seems to cost a bit more than my normal treatment and takes longer. Is that right?

I really really really don't want the dye and have no interest in looking like anyone from X Factor. Is there any point me having it done?

Help! TIA.

I had it done about 6 months ago. Not keen tbh. It didn't do any thing for me i couldn't do my self.

I actually do dye my eye brows and end up with a Jordan look Hmm.

It adds definition but it doesn't sound like that's what you want, also had hairs growing in strange directions.

I'm a total eyebrow obsessive perfectionist but wouldn't do it again.

Thanks bristol. My brows are quite natural, although I do get them shaped, so I'm quite scared about how I'm going to look afterwards!

My current eyebrow lady came highly recommended, is cheap, is good (IMHO!), and I don't want to not go to her anymore.

I think you've answered your own question PM. If you don't want them dyed there seems little point in having the treatment done as I fail to see how it would be any different (other than more expensive) than what you have done at the moment. If you're happy with them as you are don't be pressured into having something done you don't want. Eyebrows are NOT something you want messed up! xxx

I remember the thread.
I googled and found that my nearest one was just too far away for me to be bothered.

I might go along with it once to tick the "good friend" box and give it a try.

Am I bbeing dim, what does HD mean? If its home-dye, I definatley wouldn't do it!

Can your friend not do it on herself first??

ednurse · 18/02/2011 15:45

HD - high definition. A combo of waxing, threading, plucking and tinting.

Never had 'HD brows' done but often have them threaded and tinted (naturally blonde eyebrows, currently have chestnut/brunette hair)

bristolcities · 18/02/2011 15:52

I home-dye its actually pretty fool proof because it doesn't stain the skin all you have to do is chose the right shade, i always go black and i think it looks pretty good.

I thought I'd report back now I've had it done!

It was certainly an interesting process. I'm accustomed to having my brows done very quickly as a precursor to another treatment, but this was a treatment in its own right.

My brows were waxed, then threaded, then plucked. I stuck to my guns on the no-dye. I then had some make-up put on my brows and around to cover up the redness. I think it's supposed to be a 5-step process.

I was glad I stuck to the no-dye, having seen how dark they can be afterwards. Mine are already quite dark.

It took about 20-30 minutes and it was strange to have that much detail paid to my brows!

The results are good, I do like them. BUT the cost is at least twice and almost three-times as my normal threading/waxing so...I'm not convinced.

I think if you have bad brows, have never had them done, or are paranoid about them, this would be good. Mine, however, are pretty good after many years of waxing/threading and I can go a while between treatments anyway.

Interesting, I considered having them done but I already have them threaded and then pencil them in, so they are already fairly defined. Not sure the price tag reflects the treatment!

natkingswoodbarnes · 17/08/2014 16:29

I swear by it:) I know it costs more than regular treatments but the results are worth it ...IMHO x

Pastperfect · 17/08/2014 19:37

Swear by it also.

I've always had my brows threaded and thought they were in pretty good shape but after my first visit with an HD technician everyone commented on how much younger I looked. I have dark blond brows and had them died a shade darker.

Over time I have had the shape changed - the arch is further out and they are thicker.

Well worth the time and effort
