I found these which are good, but they don't have my size (8).

Maybe I should just get the new look ones... do you think they'd be really uncomfortable?

I like the New Look ones, and they are silly cheap. In fact I may get some myself.

Definitely not too high, unless (as DH pointed out) you work somewhere with very low ceilings.
