please help - black or brown?

am about to invest in this coat - it's a belated christmas/birthday present from DH - I just haven't found anything til now. So, do I go for black or brown? Or do I not go for it at all - is it going to make me look middle aged ? (I AM middle aged btw, but a young [hopeful] middle aged)

Depends on your colouring...does black suit you? I have got pale skin and it's a disaster on me, so I would choose brown (or even better, navy).

I have dark brown hair, dark brown eyes, fair but not pale skin - I think black looks ok on me
