DC3 is a couple of weeks old and I'm just about fitting back into most of my clothes but I only have a pair of brown cords, jeans and grey flannel trousers that fit - and the grey ones will be too loose in a few weeks. I have a couple of pairs of leggings but can't bf with a tunic on - not sure if i can get away with skirt/shorts over leggings? I prefer to pull up rather than pull down to feed and rather whip a t-shirt up quick than faff with buttons and belts. also don't really have a fortune of money to spend as i'm a sahm and feel guilty spending dh's money on clothes.

am internet clothes shopping for ideas and have no idea what to go for! i could live in comfy, stretchy, baggy clothes but am trying to make an effort and smarten up a bit to fit in with the yummy mummys at nursery.

any tips or advice on some trendy/stylish basics to go for?

best thing i can suggest, which is what i did, sew nursing clips into a few nice vest tops such as www.joebrowns.co.uk/sp+Womens-Vests-Camis-Pretty-Lace-Top-Vest+LT243. then you can wear them underneath any top you like. the only problem is finding nursing clips, they dont sell them to need to cut them off old nursing bras. some odd people sell used nursing bras on ebay, which you could cut clips off. thats whaat i did, and it means i could wear anything from my wardrobe with one of those underneeath and not worry about belly hanging out or buttons or anything. also, when you are done BF just take the clips off and sew straps back on.

How about these?

I just wear what I would have worn normally, the only thing I can't is high necked, non stretchy dresses.

I wear a lot of camies under normal tops (cheapo Primark ones so I have them in loads of colours and they stretch well).

I live in skinny jeans/boots with nice top and boyfriend cardies. Or wrap/deep v neck dresses.

If you're anything like me your shape will prbably change quite a bit as the months go on, I'm still losing weight (DD 6 months) and am slimmer than I was prior pregnancy. As a result I nip to Primark every few months and buy 2 pairs of skinny jeans, one in dark indigo and one in medium and a few camis to wear under nicer tops. (A few from Boden that wash brilliantly and are really flattering.) I hate the whole concept of 'disposable' fashion, but I really can't justify very expensive jeans when my shape seems to change every week!

(And don't feel guilty about spending a little money unless you're broke, it is family income, you are raising his child! But that is another thread. Wink)

i'm sure i've just seen nursing clips on ebay but glanced over them wondering why anyone would want to buy them!

i fed ds1&2 for a year each so have had plenty of practice but am frustrated i have to think twice about what i put on every morning when there's a cupboard full of tops that are too fiddly to wear.

some boyfriend cardis are 1st on the list!

I agree with what NinkyNonker said - I tend to just wear what I would have worn anyway. I have biggish boobs so prefer low V neck tops (when I can find them - aren't many around this season), and I wear a cami or tight jersey top underneath them.

When I bf, I pull the cami up and the low cut V neck down, so I have some modesty from above and below.

I like H&M camis because they are cheap and if you buy the maternity ones, long. Just buy them in a size smaller to allow for you being smaller.
